Purchased a large vintage mirror from Sara and Zachary of http :// shabbychicfairyta… from their other store on etsy https://www.etsy.com/sho…... the mirror was 124.99. I was told by Sara that FedEx would be packing and shipping my mirror(I have messages from her stating this) and that it would cost me 150.00... she said FedEx quoted this price to her and that... and I quote "it is not marked up one cent." ( have a message from her stating this too). I paid the 274.99 and waited for Sara to ship it out. When I received the tracking # I had spoken to a few people and they said that the shipping seemed REALLY expensive... so I contacted FedEx and asked them to give me a quote using the values that were in my tracking info. The first FedEx agent gave me a quote of 66.00 and she asked if I wanted to talk to a FedEx specialty agent that handles shipping quotes etc... and I said yes... the second agent gave me a quote of 62.00 and change. Both of these quotes included shipping done by FedEx. I asked the agent if there was any way at all that this mirror could cost 150.00 to ship even using packing materials, the box, everything... They said absolutely not! At this point I went on line to FedEx and ran my own quote and still came up in the 60 dollar range. I decided to Email Sara and tell her that I contacted FedEx and that she over charged my shipping and that I felt lied to and taken advantage of... Sara then informed me that she stopped the delivery of the mirror and that it will be returned back to her... she felt uncomfortable about continuing the sale and she tried blaming me, she had every excuse in the book and then blamed FedEx... HAD I NOT GOT A QUOTE FROM FEDEX THEY WOULD HAVE RIPPED ME OFF!... I told her I wanted the mirror and that she had no right returning it since I had paid for it already. We agreed that she would call FedEx and have it delivered to me... for 4 days I was on the phone with FedEx to make sure it would be delivered to me and each time they kept telling me it was scheduled to go back to her... until it got close to my home... when it got within 30 miles of my home I called the FedEx hub and they said it would be delivered on Tuesday but my husband agreed that we would drive the 30 miles to pick it up because I didn't want it mistakenly sent back to her. Earlier that same day Sara messaged me that she was refunding me a substantial part of my shipping because the actual shipping was a lot less. She also told me in one of her messages that she actually packed the mirror herself... and that FedEx didn't! She lied to me so many times... Which explains why it was BROKEN! We had opened the box on sight of the FedEx hub in front of to fedex employees and even they said the mirror was packaged incorrectly and that they would never pack a mirror like that. We drove home the 30 miles with the broken mirror... and I called Sara but this time Sara decided she was caught in so many lies that she no longer wanted to deal with me and had her husband Zachary... he proceed to tell me that I was rude to his wife in etsy convo's which I was not and have the convo's to prove it and he also told me to shut up... and proceeded to try to intimidate me. He actually acted like a salesman so that made me chuckle... eventually after he finished his tyraid I was able to tell him I wanted a claim put in for the glass... I looked both of them up on the worldwide web and I was right! He's a glorified sales man and according to LinkedIn he gives SUPERIOR CUSTOMER CARE... That's a joke! That's why he told me to shut up right? In conclusion ALWAYS GET A QUOTE FROM FEDEX ONCE YOU GET YOUR TRACKING INFO FROM THIS SELLER! I wonder how many of their customers have been over charged and don't even realize it. I will never buy from them again and I will never refer anyone to them... I may just do a post on my blog about this too. At this point I don't know how the claim will come out but the less I have to deal with them, the better off I'll be. The last thing that Sara asked of me was that I give her positive feedback or no feedback at all, even if the mirror came to me broken... I told her, "are you serious!" After all this she had the audacity to ask me for positive feedback...
