Call me old fashioned but I still subscribe to the print edition of Barron's and read it for investment tips. I find the articles to be well thought out and insightful. Better than a lot of the rubbish you get online these days.

Pimco is the biggest bond fund manager in the world. They are ridiculous. If you can't get into one of their mutual funds you can buy one of their ETFs. They also put out a lot of useful research http://www.pimco.com/EN/Insights/Pages/ViewpointsOverview.aspx

Scottrade is the cheapest/best online broker I'm aware of. I had Etrade and Schwab before, but Scottrade on average was less expensive. It's not glamorous but their online interface works well if you're reasonably tech savvy and a self-directed investor. Check it out.

I've had my money with Fidelity for nearly 30 years. They might not be what they were back in the heyday with Peter Lynch and Magellan but they are still a good and trustworthy place to manage your money. Every mutual fund and bond fund you can think of. I also have a bank account with them too.

Seeking Alpha is one of the new sort of stock research sites where anyone and their mother can write an opinion about a company. Some of the articles are OK but a lot of them are really bad. So you have to spend hours sorting through the junk to find anything worth reading. If you really want stock tips, try Barron's.
