Laser hair removal device: It took about 3 weeks to arrive from the States to Canada. In my experience, this device has no influence in removing unwanted hair, such as those on the chin and moustache (for women), even in a situation in which the hairs are not fair. The company offers a 100% money back guarantee within 90 days, including shipping.

When I contacted them via email at about 75 days, they did not respond. When I went through PayPal (which I had used to pay for the device), they responded within a couple of hours offering a replacement. I went through PayPal again requesting the return / refund. The company then offered PayPal a refund of the cost of the device almost immediately, once returned, but no payment for shipping. I have returned the device and asked PayPal to also seek the shipping reimbursement.

I looked for reviews online after my experience and saw that others are having difficulty returning the device for a refund.

I DO NOT recommend this device. The problems were 1) slow shipping (not a deal breaker on its own; 2) the device did not work as advertised in my experience; and, 3) they seem reluctant to respond to their money-back guarantee, including shipping.

Although I had no difficulties with the webhosting service, their customer service turned into a nightmare when I decided not to renew. They phoned me three weeks prior to my renewal date. When I heard the cost for renewal, I said "Absolutely not!" They sent me a curt email offering a slightly reduced price for "24 hours only" with a kind of nasty tone that the offer would disappear. I didn't respond since I had decided not to renew.

My account had a big banner on it saying they did not have any billing info, and that I needed to provide it. Since I had not intention of renewing... Twenty-four hours prior to the expiration of what I had paid for, they billed my expired Visa card $550CA for 3 more years of service. I noticed this and contacted them within about 6 hours. Over several frustrating days, the best solution they offered was that I would fill out a cancellation document, they would immediately and permanently disable my site, and they would then decide what, if any money they would refund to me.

My bank reversed the Visa charge. I never went into the control panel again. I did not renew my domain name and so my site went down. It took GreenGeeks 6 months to realize they did not have my money, at which point they demanded I pay or they would shut down my site. Idiots.

Tip for consumers:
Although I was pleased with my initial purchase of 3 years of hosting, their cancelation process at the end of that 3 years is hidden in the fine print allowing them to charge a renewal unexpectedly for whatever term you initially purchased. They then totally refuse to refund the charge.

I set my account to no auto renew. I assume this is why they phoned me on Jan 18 asking me if I was renewing for $395US for 3 years. I said, "Absolutely not!" I wasn't using it very much, and that is way too much for what I do. Caroline R said, let me see what I can do, and sent me an email offering around 250USD with 48 hours to respond or the offer would be withdrawn.

Meanwhile, I had decided not to keep the service because it was way to expensive for the amount I use it. I ensured my account wasn't on auto renew. I knew the credit card I used to set up 3 years ago had expired although I still have the same number. My GG account had a big red banner stating no valid payment option was available on my account.

On February 6,22 hours before my site expired, at 2AM, Green Geeks put the $395US charge through on an expired credit card.

I disputed immediately by trouble ticket and email. Their best offer? I can cancel auto renew now if I wish, but I will not get a refund and it will cancel my service immediately.

They make accounts automatically auto renew and it is very difficult to turn off. If you do, apparently they phone to try to get you to purchase, as they did me on Jan 18. And, in my case, I am of the view they have put an unauthorized charge on my credit card account, and have contacted my bank. The only remedy GG is offering is to keep my money and terminate their webhosting of my site immediately, although apparently I've now paid for 3 more years despite, 1) having advised verbally on Jan 18 would not renew, 2) turning off auto renew, and 3) trying to ensure they did not have a "valid payment option".

I strongly advise people to avoid a company that needs to resort to this type of business practice.

The moderators are controlling in the extreme. They leap to conclusions that a poster is criticizing moderation and punish posters. They end discussion on motives they disagree with, then hijack the conversation back to their preferred theory. They overlook remarks by some posters, and punish others for comments the criticize as rude when they are anything but. If they disagree with you about 3 times, they freeze you out, putting you on a ban, or a "time out" with no word as to how long that is for, and no discussion. Controlling and dictorial. Not worth your time to try to make a contribution, and certainly not worth a "donation" to participate.
