Two years ago, I ordered two personalized T shirts from Zazzle to give as a Christmas gift. I ordered them on December 5 and the site said they would arrive by December 18. On December 18, they hadn't even shipped yet. Trying to make a long story short, the way that I got the shirts by Christmas was to complain online on a site similar to this one. At that point, Zazzle went above and beyond and got the shirts to me within a few days, on time for Christmas.

Three days after Christmas, I received a duplicate order. The same two personalized T shirts, delivered on December 28. That was the original order. If I hadn't complained online, I would not have received the order on time.

I was happy with the shirts, so I decided if I ever wanted a personalized shirt again, I would order from Zazzle but order well ahead of time, especially if it's for Christmas. This year I wanted another personalized T shirt as a Christmas gift, so I ordered it on October 22. I received it yesterday, October 26.

These two experiences have been like night and day. The shirt is great. I think this company does a fine job overall but that they can run into shipping issues at holiday time. So if you want to order anything as a Christmas gift, my advice is that if you are looking at the site in December, ignore what it says about how long the shipping will take. It's going to take longer and you most likely will not receive it on time. Order well ahead of time, by the middle of November at the latest.

I appreciate the quick shipping this time.

My son and daughter-in-law are expecting a girl and my daughter-in-law wanted a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme for her baby shower. I was pleasantly surprised to find Very Hungry Caterpillar supplies at Shindigz that were tailored specifically for a baby girl. I ordered a personalized banner, personalized cups, and plates, and they came promptly and were perfect. I called once to check on the order, and the representative to whom I spoke was friendly, polite, and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend this company. The supplies made the shower special.

I decided to order a mermaid blanket from DressLily on December 5. I've said it was the 8th in other reviews, but upon looking closer I now see it was the 5th. Since I wanted it for Christmas, I decided not to go for the free shipping and instead to pay for shipping. Even with the shipping charge, I paid less than half of what I have seen other mermaid blankets priced at.

I saw after I ordered it that it shipped from China, and I also saw after I ordered it that there would be a 5-10 business day processing time before it shipped. So I thought it unlikely that I would receive it by Christmas.

They sent me a tracking number right away, but because I knew by then that there would be the processing time, I was not surprised when the tracking did not start to move right away. However, after 5 business days, it did start to move, and I received the blanket on December 20.

I was a little apprehensive when opening it, having by then seen reviews which complained of the quality of items received. However, the blanket was fine, it was big enough, the color was exactly as pictured, the quality was fine. I received it in time for Christmas and the price was right.

I don't discount the accounts of those who say they have had a negative experience. But what I think is forgotten is that people who have what they perceive to be a negative experience are far more likely to speak about it online than those who have a positive experience. That's human nature. A positive experience is what is expected, and people don't speak about what is expected. They tend to speak more about what is unexpected. So seeing all the negativity can perhaps give an inaccurate view of a company. Those who have had a bad experience may be a miniscule percentage of the company's customers, but that is not taken into account by those reading the reviews and complaints, and one can start thinking that everyone is having a negative experience.

So that's why I take the time to leave an account of my positive experience.

I saw a T-shirt with a quote from Captain Jean Luc Picard on it, "Shut Up Wesley" on CafePress' site. I thought my daughter might like it as she is a big Star Trek fan. I ordered the shirt and paid a little more for shipping to get it on time for her birthday. It arrived on time and she LOVED it. I truly think it's the first gift I have given her since childhood that she has truly loved. It's been over three months now, she wears the shirt often and it's holding up well. I could have scoured stores for days and never found that perfect gift. Thanks, CafePress!
