BUYER BEWARE. Asha is a total fraud.

Her school is more like a one room prison cell. From the moment I walked in, I had my reservations. To begin with, there were only 2 of us taking the "intense" one week makeup artistry certificate program. And after choosing not to continue after 2 days into the program (Asha refused to reimburse me the money for the days not attended) it's obvious to me why more people didn't sign up. Asha claims " students will perfect the basic skills needed to work as a makeup artist in the beauty and bridal fields". First and foremost, Asha has absolutely NO knowledge in the beauty industry. She started off the first day telling us she " didn't believe in theory" as she handed us this thrown together, wikipedia'd book of basic information. When asked about material within said booklet she was unable to answer simple questions. Her answer to everything was " Do what you feel" and " Make up has no set rules". Complete, and total lies.

Her website has many components to draw you in. All of which are FALSE:

"They will have the chance to work with industry professionals such as photographers, models, clients and hair stylists while still in school"- FALSE

"You will also leave the program with two professional photos of your work shot by a reputable fashion photographer as well as industry working experience."- FALSE. Asha fails to mention that you have the OPTION to come BACK and take part in a photo shoot. Which you have to arrange on your own schedule, after you've completed the program.

" Students can also purchase select makeup products at the school if they choose."- FALSE. There was absolutely NO make up at the school. Asha said if we wanted, she would go to MAC and buy things for us.

"You'll also receive hands on training with the smallest student ratio in Toronto - really get to know your instructor, industry professionals as well as your future colleagues." FALSE. There were 2 students in the class, and we were to do make up on one an others faces while Asha sat on her cell phone, drinking Starbucks.

In addition to all the listed above Asha is unprofessional and uneducated. I suggest ladies and gentlemen that if you're trusting your money to someone, you ensure they are properly educated in the field. Asha claims to have gone to school in "London". If you have any hopes of starting your career as a make up artist, I strongly suggest you save yourself the time and money, and go to a reputable school that has professional, educated teachers who are able to address any questions and concerns you may have. Don't be fooled by a pretty website, what you will take away with you from this one week course is nothing but wasted time and a bad taste in your mouth.
Everything Asha tells you is completely discredited the first day you step into a proper, registered Makeup school. And it is for this that I am writing this review.
