Verified purchase

The short version: I bought a table top 5 months ago from Wayfair.com, thinking I had purchased a whole table. Finally unpacking, I realized my mistake and tried to get a base. No longer sold by Wayfair. Gena B., the chat rep I spoke to, worked for 2 weeks to get a decision from the merchandising team, and in the end she arranged for a full refund for my table top. I was blown away by her tenacity in making this right, and I've never received such good service from a company. Especially since I contributed to the situation by not noticing the error until 5 months later. 5 Stars for Gena B.

Wayfair sells furniture and housewares online. I am an elderly retiree living in CT but with a winter home in California, where the table was shipped..

In my continuing Orbitz saga, the latest outrage. The airline canceled my flight. I went to Orbitz to see that they had credited my account for the canceled flight, which had (with a fight) been purchased with credits from a previous transaction.
Customer service told me I needed an itinerary number. It was on the confirmation they sent me when I booked the flight. I gave it to them. It referred to a PAST flight from last June! They told me they couldn't help me because I couldn't provide a correct itinerary number, which their system had sent to me! There was no credit for the canceled flight. After a lengthy 'discussion' and threats of escalation, they found my canceled flight and restored my credits. I can't wait to see what happens when I next try to use those credits. Their policies and practices are geared toward keeping your money and making it extremely difficult to use credits.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid this site entirely. They are thieves. When you hit a bump, document every conversation and be insistent when they fail to satisfy. Ask to speak to a supervisor or a legal representative who is authorized to satisfy your request. Don't give up. But best is to avoid them entirely.

I ended up with an $800 credit due to their website downgrading my flight. They won't give a refund, only a credit. When I went to use the credit, the cost of my one-way flight jumped from $538 round trip to $664 ONE WAY. This left me with a $140 credit which they said would be forfeited because it was "small". After squawking, they relented and left me with the credit. I'll frankly never use it because I will NEVER use them again. Customer service process is awful and you'll give up out of despair. They are little more than thieves.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use the site at all.

Booked a flight, ended up with a credit for $800, which Orbitz made it very difficult to use up. Then they confiscate the balance.
