Bought my first Dell in2003-lasted 10 yrs. Had a bad monitor after 4 mo. And they replaced it quickly. XPS laptop 6 yrs ago, still works great. Second hand XPS desktop over 5 yrs ago, still working great. Have just ordered an Alienware Aurora 5 from Dell for gaming. Hope It goes as well as the others!
Just a bit. Of advice-Don't depend on the pop-up chat service person to fix your order for you-Always check very carefully that you are getting all the configurations you want for price advertised.
Update: My Alienware arrived exactly on the expected date. I have tested it out and am very happy with it so far. It would be helpful if Dell customer service people could advise you that you'll need to get the correct adapter if you have an older monitor that doesn't
Fit the new graphics card. Of course the CS guy(barely spoke Eng.) did not tell me the right thing and neither did Best Buy. I spent half a day researching online and finally found one for $4.95. Works great.
Recently had 2 experiences with sales "associates" at BB:
Told sales person I wanted to get a holder for my TomTom GPS. Guy promptly picked out one that only fit the Garmin. I noticed the pic on the box and found the correct one my self.
Next, went to another BB and asked for an adapter to fit an older monitor to a newer computer. Salesperson showed me the one they had-it didn't look right, so asked one of their
"geek squad" if there was any other option. He promptly sold me a $49.99 gadget for connecting extra monitors. Of course it did not work. Spent hours on line finding the correct connector-finally did-for $4.95.
When I went 0n line to renew my drivers licence, i was directed by DMV to "visit GoRenew.com" this got me to a site called "FloridaDrivers Licence.org", where I thought I was renewing my licence. It asked for a debit card for "faster processing" after I put my info in, nothing happened except I got an e mail thanking me for my purchace of a "Road Guide" but no amount was stated. I checked my bank account and sure enough the amt. Of 3.99 was pending.
Tip for consumers:
This site does say in very small print that they "are not a govt. organisation" but by the time you realise this its too late. this site is the first thing that comes up in the search box. "Florida DMV.gov"is what you should put in.
Ditto ditto ditto to all of the above 1 star reviews. Wish Id read them before wasting time and $!
The ad promised to fix exception code 0xc*******. Of course it did not.
Am now trying to get a refund. I uninstalled this junk-never again!
