I called to get an appointment for a new thermostat and a maintenance for the furnace. I told the gentleman that my furnace was about 20years old. He failed to mention that they don't work on furnaces that are old.
When the technician came in, he had a bandanna on his face. I said that I had forgotten to inquire if anyone going into a house from this company has been vaccinated. He looked at me quizzically and seem to stumble over his comment. He finally coughed up that he couldn't tell me. I inquired..."you mean to say that Bobs heating's policy is not to tell customers if they have been vaccinated or not?" He answered, "yes". He did not like my question but I carried on to let him in to do the job. I had no choice of type of thermostats! It took him minutes to install. He reported that my furnace was so old, as my AC that was not even lawful to sell these any longer. I asked if they had a senior discount and he said, no. I called Customer Service and asked for a manager. Only spoke to the Customer Service. She really could not answer the question about vaccinations, except the company could not ask employees. Really? There was a senior discount and they refunded $12 for a $400 sale. That was some discount! She spoke with the manager and said they will retrain the employee? He even wrote on the sales slip the prices for a furnace, A. C, and water heater. I didn't ask for any prices. I ended with I wouldn't be buying anything or doing business with this company.
I would not want to work with this company again. This person was unprofessional and ineffective as a sales person. I don't actually think that the company cared, which is strange because I am soon to purchase a furnace and an AC. NOT THERE! Apparently they have too much business to be remorseful about how a person is treated, top to bottom.
If I were the manager, I would write a note and give some actual compensation to try to repair relationship with the customer.
