  • CSS3 Code Generator For Buttons, Forms & Alerts

6/8/11

CSS3 provides site developers with a quick and easy way to create boxes that customers would find attractive. Its rather simple, instead of wasting time writing codes, head off to CSS3 and they will generate one for you!

  • VS Revo Group

6/7/11

Great program. Saves you time going into your control panel each time to uninstall software. It also has more advanced features to remove all traces of the program that are often left behind.

  • Alcatraz History

6/7/11

It was an interesting read and very informative. Gives some details about the inmates and the history of the prison. However - after have 10 minutes, my eyes got saw from the black background so I had to leave the website. Thus, I will give the site three stars.

  • 404checker

6/7/11

This website has some useful tools for Web Masters. It can tell whether a site returns a 404 status, check domains, WhoIS Lookup and even search your IP and your location.

  • Fake Name Generator

6/6/11

Its a really good website. Protecting an identity online can often be hard, but with this fake-name generator it will help you generate a fake name along with address, numbers, etc according to your gender and location. Rest assured, this website is RANDOMLY generated as stated in the Privacy Policy.

  • Folk Direct

6/6/11

Folkdirect.com is a brand new social network devoted to its customers privacy. Even though its rather new with very few members I believe it has a positive future ahead of them. Maybe even the next Facebook. Huh? I wish them good luck!

  • Zoho

6/4/11

I give three stars because I found several bad reviews on the Macafee SiteAdvisor. However - I started using it recently and haven't run into any trouble yet. Fantastic CRM and does support SSL connection.

  • StumbleUpon

9/6/11

StumbleUpon is OK. I agree with TN though. It's a complete mess and needs an improvement to the interface. The site also lacks speed and doesn't provide very accurate results. I find it annoying when I stumble, then about five minutes later I stumble upon the same site.

But StumbleUpon must be doing something right with over 1 billion Stumbles each month. What is even more interesting is that according to StatCounter, StumbleUpon made up 47.11 percent of all social traffic in the United States in July 2011.

I've always wondered how many viruses people have received from this site. It isn't like you're on Google where you can use Norton Safeweb, SiteJabber or WOT to check whether the site is safe. This is because you don't know what the next site is. I've had a few alerts from Norton when using this service - so please be careful. I recommend a computer scan after using their service.

  • Hack Forums

9/8/11

Hackforums.net is an illegal hacking forum. Here black hat hackers exchange viruses, computer program exploits and give codes to activate programs.

It is a crime to participate in the above. I do not support or endorse the forum and recommend against creating or malware.

I would give the site one star - but this community can also be useful to an extent. The forum gives me an insight into what hackers are doing, and how to prevent future viruses or malware from entering my computer when it's released.

Lastly, let's hope that ICE can seize the domain soon. Sites like this make creating viruses easy, and the site makes hacking look "cool" when it isn't.

  • Browserprotect.org

8/22/11

I'm not sure whether it's OK to write a review based on suspicion - but I'll go ahead with it anyway and I'm happy to be proved wrong.

I have been using this on Firefox for about three months now. In the options panel there is a button to disable the "show Facebook share option upon hijack alert". I clicked to disable this then it automatically turns itself back on. Then on the Firefox site, the developer has a picture of the extension but guess what? The thing it doesn't show is that it has that Facebook share button.

I then checked WOT and found a review by "alexandergkelly" which makes me even more suspicious.

Again - this review is based on suspicion and not necessarily facts. I'm happy to have someone here prove me wrong.

  • Mashable

7/20/11

Mashable takes too long to load, it causes both my Firefox and Google Chrome too crash and Adobe Flash doesn't seem to like the website, either as that crashed several times when on the site.

  • Birdflu.atspace

7/5/11

I found this after typing in "ViewerFrame? Mode=Motion" into the URL bar. I have found this site to be suspicious and has a high chance of containing malicious software. The site claims to have access to live-security cameras. I clicked on the "Nuclear Lab - High Tech Equipment" one and my Java came up with a security warning asking me to grant access to something. I also received a security-alert from my antivirus program. Some videos seem to work - but they are small, low-quality and overall its hard to confirm the integrity of the site. Thus - I will give it a "meh" rating.

  • Symbaloo

7/1/11

The site seemed interesting. It seemed to be a quick and easy way to manage all your favorite bookmarks in one page. However - not even 24hrs after, I've deleted my account. It isn't as good as it looks, unfortunately. Its hard searching for sites to add to the bookmarks bar and when you want to create your own bookmark, it takes ages.

  • FotoFlexer

6/30/11

Fotoflexer is a free photo editing tool. Even though it does have great, useful features, the negative outweighs the positive. The negative side is that editing photos on Fotoflexer takes forever. There is more loading than editing. It freezes every now and again, and sometimes crashes. Not really recommended for those who want to edit large amounts of photos, but maybe one or two every now and again would be OK.

  • Social Security Numbers Online

6/20/11

So I came across this SSN Registry website, thinking I was going to have to write a -beware- report on SiteJabber. However - the website doesn't actually ask for your SSN, but rather asks for your name and location then gives you a picture that will make you laugh. Nothing to worry about. Totally safe.

  • Symantec Corp

6/17/11

I have used Norton antivirus for some years now. In 2011, I switched from Norton Internet Security to Norton 360 5.0 to give that a go. I am a very dissatisfied customer because it completely slows down my computer and it is horrible protecting me from hackers and viruses. I spoke to a computer expert down at a store and he told me that he would never recommend Norton to his clients. He, in fact, said to buy Trend-Micro Titanium Maximum Security. He said that its cheaper, it doesn't slow down the computer performance like Norton and it has much better protection. I think I might have to give it a go!

  • WOT Services Ltd

6/15/11

Not too fussed with Web of Trust, (WOT).

To be honest - the rating system isn't set up well at all. In short - I wouldn't trust this site because its got a safe mark from the WOT community. I would go to more trusted sources such as Norton safe-web, McAfee Site Advisor, or even Jabber!

In general - when coming to a new site especially before downloading check with a human based community (I would recommend Jabber over WOT) and then check with an anti-virus company, such as the ones mentioned above.

  • delicious

6/11/11

Meh. I had so many bookmarks it was totally out of control. I had to find a solution. I found delicious last year then deleted my account last night. It is too hard to manage and really confusing. It would be easy for those who bookmark around 100 sites or so, but when you have over 500 or so the website makes organising a living nightmare. I found a better solution - Google Bookmarks! So much easier to use.

  • Logaway

6/9/11

OK. Some might disagree but my personal advice to everyone would be to avoid this website. Reason? Well I tried confirming the website's TRUSTe sign and it is not registered. Further to this - I checked Norton safe web and one person commented on it. Guess who commented? "Logaway". The owner of the site - very unprofessional. It is however trusted by McAfee. Thus - I won't be giving more than a two star rating.

  • Photobucket

6/5/11

I would love to give this website more then two stars but I couldn't. I'll explain why below:

The website is fantastic in general. Great picture quality and would be a fantastic way to share my photos with friends, and even the world!

The fact is the website is so slow and puts me off. I have a good quality and fast home connection, but this website seems to slow my connection down. Further to this, I cannot put photos up onto the website when others are on their computers as their connection disconnects when I put some photos up. Lastly, it takes an average 10 minutes for every 15 photos.
