I cannot begin to explain how much this site has helped me!
It may be old - and most things are outdated. However - the man who created this site is a genius. His encryption skills are amazing and still benefit many today. He has a program called Ultra High Security Password Generator with between 63 and 64 character passwords. I use his passwords with both Hushmail and TrueCrypt. The passwords are virtually uncrackable.

Do you want to know more about your local hospital? Do you want to compare your hospital rating times and other details? Then this is the website for you. Patients can also see, on average, how many people are admitted to the hospital each year.

Friendchecker

Friendchecker

This is something the parents on this site might be interested in. There are so many antivirus programs out there to protect yourself from malicious scripts. However - social networking can be a dangerous place for people, especially children. How can parents make sure your child isn't a friend with, or communicating with a registered child sex offender online? Well - FriendChecker.com can search your child's friends list. Even though it won't pick up every registered offender, it will make you feel more at ease.

TosBack.org puts some big, well-known websites privacy policies into one central location. Do you want to keep up-to-date with over 50 website policies? Some are, but not limited to Facebook, Amazon, Paypal, eBay and the white house website. It really is a good site. I suggest subscribing to the RSS feeds.

Skins Compression

Skins! Skins! Skins! I am absolutely in-love with these! People often ask me why I wear Skins and are puzzled as to how clothing can benefit an athlete. But to be frank, I could have not purchased a better brand. In winter - they keep me warm. In summer, they cool my body down. Skins declined the significant pain I used to endure in my legs.

Even though they may cost a fair amount - they are well worth it. I even contacted the customer service, had a response within a couple hours and he answered my questions well. I will, however, mention two downsides. The logo's on the Skins fall off within a couple months. I also was told that swimming, or getting your Skins wet will reduce the UV protection that the clothing offers. From memory its a 20-30% decrease.

Overall - very satisfied customer.

In addition to changing our passwords often, we need to make sure that our passwords aren't stolen and published on the world wide web. Everyone must accept in the modern world, you have a risk of been hacked. Hacking is a fact of life - and even though we cannot prevent it entirely - we can reduce the risk.

An additional way to keep your account safe is to use this tool. It will check its databases to see whether your email and password has been published to the world. It won't scan every database, but it will scan the popular ones like the LulzSec and Anonymous hackers databases.

This site is trustworthy - it will not store your email address. Media organisations such as the New York Times, CBC News, ComputerWorld, and more have endorsed this site. Site is encrypted so no one can eavesdrop.

Site has approx. 1 million records on its database.

What is Ninite? Well - lets say you crashed you W7 and had to install your OS again. It sounds like an awful lot of work though, right? Well now its so much easier with this site. Just install your OS again, open up this address in IE and then you can download several programs at once. It makes adding all your favorite programs really easy.

Gold Coast Marathon

The Gold Coast Marathon is the best running event I've ever competed in. Each year on the first weekend (both Saturday & Sunday) the GC Marathon & HM is on. It is highly organised with both local and international competitors along with world-class athletes. It is a tough race, but with the music along the way, the beautiful beach view during dawn and the loud roar of thousands of spectators at the finish line makes it all worth it! I recommend this event to anyone who loves running.

P.S. As the 2011 GCM is on now you can go onto the site and watch their live webcam.

VirtualBox

Do you like experimenting with computers? Do you often install programs from the internet that you're not sure is safe? Then I would like to recommend this.

This software installs a virtual Operating System (OS) within your computer. It is often used to experiment with new programs, or to learn how to set something up. For example - you have W7 and want to install TrueCrypt, but first you want to install it in a virtual OS to make sure you get it right before installing it on your actual computer. This prevents you from making mistakes on your actual computer - so its a really handy tool to have.

Asics are the best shoe brand around. It helped support my knee pain during my runs. It reduces the shock to the knee. I also had a friend with Achilles Tendon and he said that Asics was a fantastic shoe. It gave him extra padding and support, thus he was able to keep running and it recovered within a couple months.

OpenVPN

OpenVPN

OpenVPN is a fantastic, easy-to-use proxy tool.

100MB free data each 24hrs. There is also a paid version for those who want more data. Proxies are for those who are really concerned about privacy. It hides your IP address, along with physical location and other details that most websites collect from users.

Proxies can prevent people from tracking down your location. It will also stop your Internet Provider from tracking you. The paid version has cheap deals, not too bad. It does work, and well.

StartPage

StartPage

7/5/11

StartPage is an initiative by Ixquick.

StartPage works similar to Google. Go into your URL bar - type "startpage.com" and you can surf the internet like Google does. But - what's the difference between Google and StartPage? What makes StartPage better than other search engines?

Well StartPage.com picks up very similar results as to what Google would pick up. StartPage.com doesn't log your IP address and supports 256 bit SSL. A really cool part about StartPage.com is its proxy tool. For example - lets say you wanted to view the NASA website - enter NASA into the engine, then click "proxy". This will then take you into their site through a secure proxy server. However - bare in mind that it will disable Java.

Screenpresso

I love ScreenPresso! Its a simple, easy-to-use screen shot program. It lets you choose the focus area, then you do some simple edits like cropping to narrow it down to what you really want, then you're done! It turns out with almost perfect picture quality, and when capturing words, its easy to read.

Nitroreader.com

Nitroreader

7/25/11

NitroReader is a great alternative to Adobe PDF viewer. NitroReader is fast, safe and comes with many options that Adobe itself doesn't offer. It comes in both a free, and paid version. Best part of all - its not going to cost a fortune like Adobe does.

I have always found learning computer languages hard. Most will. But this site makes learning JavaScript so much easier and it's really fun. This site is so easy to understand that a computer newbie should be able to understand it. I've bookmarked this site. Its well worth a look at for those interested.

I couldn't resist laughing at this Facebook app. The "Welcome video" that pops up on its page when you enter was hilarious! But it also has a serious side. The Facebook app basically works like this: you add the app > film a short video > select three people who have to confirm your death > when all three confirm your death when you pass away they will receive this video.

I found this app through the site TED (http://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.ted.com). If you're interested listening to the speech, it's called "Adam Ostrow: after your final status message".

This is yet another hilarious website. The SCP Foundation "To Secure, Contain, and Protect". The authors have written 999 SCP fantastic stories. It's all about using your imagination. Think about something that creeps you out, then write it. It's a tad like the movie called The Human Centipede - but in a story. Enjoy!

Do you have an interest in space and NASA? Have you ever wanted to watch what's going on in space this very moment and watch space live? NASA launched this website a few hours ago to the public that lets people view space in 3D live time. Watch space missions, watch Satellites (and know where they are now). Safe website. It's free and all that you need to view the site is a little ad-on which is provided on the site.
