Marrs Communications imports and sells replacement belts for vintage tape decks, and they brag incessantly about the quality of their products. They also brag about their customer service. Unfortunately I can only attest to their customer service, and it's nothing to brag about.
Search for reviews on this company and you will find some satisfied customers. But you will also find frustrated & dissatisfied customers, and some of the craziest business practices ever encountered. You will mostly find that customers have to wait extremely long periods for their orders. No matter what their website states (which is a disaster in itself) you will NOT know if your items will get to you in 5 days, 5 weeks, 5 months, or NEVER.
In your search results from this company's reviews you will easily find that this company blames everything and everyone else for their bad behavior and misfortune. They overtly blame: their intentionally small business size, their Japanese manufacturer, their large customer base, lost/misplaced orders, PayPal account hacked - TWICE!, eBay, delivery companies, computer crashes, and the freight company.
First and foremost, though, they blame their customers! If you give the slightest complaint - especially on forums in which they are active - you will be roundly dealt with. At one point Marrs would not accept orders from customers until the customer submitted an email promising not to file a claim with PayPal. Huh? They also have odd rules about not responding to status inquiries until after X number of days after you order... oh, make sure you are counting ONLY business days!
There is just so much more, but you can do your own search and find tons of juicy reading material. I wish I would have. It would've saved me a LOT of trouble. In the end I asked for a refund, opting not to play their crazy games, nor be treated condescendingly. I just don't need the "best" that badly. Thanks anyway.
