  • Alpha Omega Financial Systems

This company helps with corporate and individual wealth management and provides the "FIXaffirm" service. Their website says their primary focus is in "... US and international equities, futures, ETFs and fixed income securities.". Though I have not personally dealt with this company and would advise discretion, I think it is an promising new solution to a long time issue and would recommend checking it out.

Tip for consumers:
The most dependable way of getting in touch with them is through the Alpha Omega website e-mail "*******@ao-fs.com" though they have a website contact form as well.

  • Spotify

1/11/18

I would advise that if you are a Prime member with Amazon or a Google account holder that you either download digital music via Amazon's music service or watch videos on Youtube. Charges are high on Spotify and the program or application tends to crash quickly and easily. Logging in and out on the website is also difficult and unreliable.

  • Amazon Prime

1/11/18

Great service and very fair prices. They charge half for Amazon Student than what they charge for the full Prime service. I recommend it to anyone looking to shop for books or required materials for college courses.

Tip for consumers:
Use discretion in purchasing from 3rd party sellers who post their listings on Amazon, one drawback of Amazon is that many of these sellers charge high shipping fees and are not always 100% reputable.

  • MetaTrader

1/11/18

The most highly trusted and one of the most widely used platforms on the web. Quite a few brokers on the Web use Metatrader4 or Metatrader5 as their software. Truly one of the best.

  • Freescoreclick

1/11/18

I was searching for my FICO score and found myself continually frustrated by the lack of available data on finding hidden or missing credit scores until I found FreeScoreClick. My information was readily discoverable and I liked their credit monitoring and identity protection very much.

Tip for consumers:
They charge $17 fee for monthly monitoring of the FICO score and identity theft prevention but are open to negotiation on the price for the first few months.

  • IndiaMART

1/10/18

I would be very careful of doing international trade with anybody over the Internet, and it goes without saying that extreme caution and sound judgment should be exercised. Between INDIAmart and Alibaba, INDIAmart seems to have more verification processes and programs to make sure scammers are not posting false information on their website than Alibaba. I have been misled on Alibaba before, and INDIAmart helped me get in touch with a international exporter who so far has seemed trustworthy and dependable. I recommend this website especially for products exclusively or almost completely manufactured only in India. But, as always, remember to protect yourself and sensitive information from being stolen and use prudence.

Tip for consumers:
Use Trustseal verified manufacturers.

This business takes their sweet time shipping orders that I have placed with them, even the express ones. Orders will ship 3-4 days after I placed them, even the ones that were ordered for 2 day shipping or First Class delivery. Avoid them and shop elsewhere.

Tip for consumers:
Shop elsewhere. The shipping is terrible.

  • Mother Earth News

1/22/17

Once, Mother Earth News was a fruit of the back-to-the-land movement, yet since 2003 or so this periodical changed. It had served mainly permaculturists, back-to-the-landers, and survivalists as a hub for a tiny, disconnected, often fragmented community. But now, people who don't know what permaculture, renewable energy, and the survivalist lifestyle is like, have altered the tone of the magazine to reach out to a similar readership of people. The magazine no longer serves as a nexus for the community it once did, which is a disservice to the first community that had subscribed to the periodical. For those just learning about green living this magazine might be fine, but readers well-versed in alternative, environmentally mindful lifestyles might want other options to read.

Tip for consumers:
Contributing writers such as Dan Chiras have written many books survivalists, permaculturists, etc. cherish.

  • Antique Rose Emporium

1/21/17

Ordered soap from here expecting an overpriced but genuine rose product. I was surprised that the soap was made of good quality materials and performed well. This business also sells rose bushes suited for climates throughout the US, and is open for rental for weddings, corporate events, etc. Check it out.

I like the HTML and CSS tutorials available on this site. I am an aspiring librarian, so learning computer programming is important to the future of my profession. Surprisingly, it wasn't geared to much towards young children so much that adults would feel strange or get bored learning it. A pleasant surprise. Recommended.

Can hardly resist the impulse to buy balls and balls of yarn from this online retailer. I crochet and weave on a small weaving frame and this is my go-to for craft yarn.

  • SolarOvens.net

1/16/17

Sells solar ovens for homesteaders, farmers, emergency preparedness, and those who cook outdoors often. Part of a group of websites owned by Nityam Privette of Rough and Ready, CA. Also check out her nut butter grinder, nut shellers, and irrigation pot websites, all of which are valuable and worth considering for the homesteader, farmer, those living off-the-grid, emergency preparedness individuals, etc. Worth a glance.

  • Earth Flags

1/16/17

Never tried this website's products or done business with these folks, but it seems like a genuine, non-scam offer with products that would make an ideal gift for the environmentalist, ecologist, nature activist, etc. in your life. This vendor also has a variety of other websites advertising a range of other products that are more geared towards the homesteader, emergency preparedness expert, farmer, orchardist, etc. Worth a glance.

  • PhotoMagnets

1/16/17

Vendor of custom magnets, storefront window signs, postcards, etc. that all promote an environmental message, or they can manufacture a custom postcard for you for weddings, fairs, corporate events, etc. They also sell many tools and machines for the survivalist, farmer, homesteader, orchardist, off-the-grid individual, that are difficult if not impossible to find in new condition at fair prices elsewhere. Though I have never done business or tried the products they are selling myself, they are worth a look based on the selection of products and hard-to-find merchandise they have for sale alone. Recommended.

Tip for consumers:
Owner is Nityam Privette, based in Rough and Ready, CA. Also see the numerous other websites associated with this one, selling everything from nutcrackers to giant inflatable earth globes. Of special interest to the survivalist, orchardist, homesteader, small farmer, and off-the-grid individuals.

  • EarthMagneticJewelry

1/16/17

Wedding ring vendor who also sells a variety of survivalist/emergency preparedness gear, homesteader, off-the-grid living tools and machines on other websites that can be discovered through the main web page of the vendor. On this website, they sell rings made from earth magnets for couples that are magnetically attracted to one another when placed close to one another.

Tip for consumers:
Compare with vendors who sell rings set with diamonds or other jewels. Also note that rare earths are a rare resource mined using often environmentally and ecologically unfriendly techniques in a manner that violates human resources. Ask if the rare earths in these rings were mined/extracted in a responsible, ethical, mindful manner.

  • Custom Magnetic Vehicle Designs

1/16/17

Great if you want to post that inspirational quote, business contact information, or image on your RV, Truck, car, van, or other vehicle. Doesn't have any surcharge for images or long passages of text. Never used the service offered by this website myself, but I haven't found it anywhere else on the Internet either, so I thought it would be worth sharing.

Tip for consumers:
Signs made by this company do not use adhesive. Instead they rely upon static cling and are thus usable indefinitely (at least in theory).

  • GiantEarthGlobes

1/16/17

Sells inflatable heavy duty vinyl world/Earth globes for events, individual ownership, festivals, fairs, etc. Ideal for the environmentalist, eco-activist, ecologist, etc. in your life as a gift. Also a good conversation piece at a festival, fair, public gathering, or corporate event, and can be rented for $100-$600 for such purposes. Though I haven't done business with this vendor or tried any of the products they sell, the concept is unique so I suggest checking out this particular product briefly if interested.

Tip for consumers:
Compare costs of purchasing a balloon vs. rental. Survivalists, emergency preparedness specialists, farmers, and orchardists will want to take special note of their groups of other websites selling nutcrackers, nut oil presses, nut butter stone grinders, customizable promotional merchandise, etc. to be perused on different websites. One website for each category of products (for instance solar ovens are all on 1 web page in 1 website). Owner is Nityam Privette, based in Rough and Ready, CA.

  • American Library Association

1/16/17

Provides invaluable and well-considered information, advice, and direction on the educational path and decisions needed to begin on the path to a career as a librarian or degrees Library Information Technology. Graduate schools providing a masters' degree accredited by this Association are listed on one web page, as are undergraduate institutions offering Associate's degrees in Library Science, Information Science with an emphasis on Library Science, and local chapters of the American Library Association by region on other web pages. Textbooks for library science are on sale at the ALA online shop, (never done business with them myself) and they have a thought-provoking web page of challenged and banned literary works for young people as well. Invaluable resource for students of Library Information Technology/Library Science and seasoned librarians alike. Recommended

Tip for consumers:
Students building and mapping out their educational path to a career in librarianship or considering a degree in LIS should locate and peruse the article/list on ALA accredited educational institutions that offer a degree in Library Science or Library Information Technology. It is organized by state. Separate lists for undergraduate vs. post-secondary programs on their own individual, specific web pages.

  • NutPickerUpper

1/16/17

Never bought from this website or tried to use the nut gatherer sold on the website before, but it seems like it might be one of those ingenous devices that save farmers, homesteaders, preparedness specialists, orchard harvesters, etc. time and effort. Worth a glance.

Perfect site for the prepper and homesteader to get this valuable tool. Doesn't appear to be a scam, though I've never used it (never bought a nutcracker from them) so I can't tell.
