I had a similar experience as others. I called an Australian booking number on the Novotel homepage, not aware I was dealing with Getaroom.com instead of Novotel callcenter. I was after a booking for a Novotel hotel in Bali, which we discussed on the phone including all details and at the end was quoted for a Novotel in Mexico! I had this corrected and quoted with a price of AUD 114.95 per room which makes AUD229.90 for two rooms and ended up paying a whopping AUD357.30! When I called back within the hour it was said I would have to pay a penalty charge for cancellation, or they could give me a 10% discount. I did not agree. No manager was available for further discussion and was left with a service request number and the reassurance I would get an answer after 5-7 business days. Misleading, bad service. Only after escalating to Twitter, Trustpilot and this review site a full refund and cancellation was provided within the same day.
