About Me

I was a teacher for a total of 15 years, 12 of which I was a computer science teacher. I then worked for ISM/IBM as a desk side and network suporrt specialist for 15 years and then I retired. I finally decided to get my ham licence which I now have after passing the exam with 92%.

The radio came one day early from the projected date. For the money I paid, my Baofeng UV-82 sure is a very solid radio and has permitted me to hit the local repeater in my area of town. It has a very clear audio and is a good starter radio for a new ham operator which I am. However, I will soon be replacing the stock antenna with something better because I do find it a bit lacking. Apart from that, it is great!
