I have ordered a watch on August 23rd

I have ordered a watch on August 23rd. Today is September 28th and nothing has been shipped yet. I am getting number of emails with identical message that tracking number will be available in 36 hours. Yet USPS still says "Pre-Shipment". That means label has been generated but item was not given to USPS. Same experience as many other people reporting - endless emails with standard message, tracking will be available in 36 hours. The company website says the staff mails the orders the next day.
And still lists the item as "In Stock".
Company claims it is in fulfillment center. I work with such businesses and have never seen items be there for anything this long.
All I want is for my item is to arrive, be of promised quality and working order.
I am willing to modify or even remove this if they take care of the customer in acceptable way.
But so far I have received nothing acceptable.
