Kept the account open for years, had a few dollars in it, never had an issue.
On Feb 7th, 2020 I sold my house and deposited a large sum to TD Bank.
And the problems began.
1st - when I tried to transfer online $100 from MY account at TD to MY account at my other bank - TD suspended my account because I am not allowed to transfer to myself.
2nd - I called them to try and unsuspend my account... they demanded that I certify that a purchase made with my debit card in 2018! Was made by me. 2018! I can hardly remember what I did last week. So theysuspended my debit card.
I went to the bank personally. They issued a new debit card and assured me that the account is no longer suspended.
A few days later I tried to pay my rent by sending money to my landlord... they suspended my account.
I called them to get it fixed... they said that my phone-voice verification is now suspended and I must go to the bank to fix it.
In sum and substance - their idea of security is to prevent a locomotive from being stolen by derailing it... and they don't really care about the travelers.
Horrible experience.
