PBS is a trusted name among parents, for decades it has entertained children with informative and entertaining programming. PBS website is an awesome resource for children to learn while having fun. PBS Parents is a resource for parents to help their children browse the web safely, to help them learn and grow. It has a expert Q&A section for parents where they can seek advice. It also publishes videos, offers special discounts to parents on selected PBS sponsors, the website also publishes a newsletter.

Parents are always looking for new ways to provide their children a better online learning and fun environment. Just like real world, web could also be a dangerous place for children if they are left alone and unsupervised. Websites like kidsclick are a safer way to browse the web for children. It has a smart (though limited) search engine. It also categorizes the web to provide links to the websites and online resources that are safe for children to browse.

  • U.S. Department of Education

US Department of Education has an excellent online resource for parents. The main focus of this website is to educate parents on how they can help children with their education and learning. Provides some basic advice like how to monitor children's performance at school. Also provides advice on advance parenting skills such as keeping balance in studies and fun, nutrition for children, keeping children away from drugs and provide a better safe environment for children to grow up.

  • Lilsugar

Lilsugar is a website for moms. It publishes resources on parenting, pregnancy, rasing children, health, fashion and other information that might help mothers. I particularly enjoyed this website because unlike other websites it does not try to scare mommies of the bad things that could happen to them or their young ones. Instead it focuses more on better living and creates a positive feeling among the readers. The website also publishes links to other websites on similar topics and is very useful as well as entertaining.

  • Obsesh

11/16/11

Obeesh is a social website for sharing makeup and style tips with your friends and social circles. Members can upload photos with their makeup tips, suggest new products they have used, browse through other member's tips and advice. Overall it is a fun place for people who love to dress up and look pretty.

  • KidsWatch

11/16/11

Kidswatch provides software for parents to monitor their children's online activities. This software available for free trial as well as paid version. It promises to help parents to restrict their children's access to potentially harmful content on the web. Also provides email alerts so that parents can be warned of possible threats. This software also monitors chats and is looking for keywords that might hint of a possible alert situation. It does sound like a little too paranoid but its better to be safe than sorry.
