I plan to switch my bath to a shower. Unfortunately, being in a condo, I have to have a licensed pro get the permit and do the work. I have already fully gutted the entire room, all the pipes are exposed and super easy to access. When I thought I would be able to obtain the permit myself I did all the research on what is involved and what tools and materials I need. The total for tools and materials was around $200 and I estimated that it would take me (a completely unskilled person) no more than 3 hours to complete the job. When I found out that a pro had to do it I called Aladdin and was quoted $2,800! They must have seen me in my nice work clothes and thought I didn't know the difference between a pipe wrench and a light socket and thought "hey we can make $2,500 pure profit off this unsuspecting woman."
