My nearest store is Lakeshore and Leslie, Toronto. I always make sure to check the availability of what I need and where it is in the store online first. Trying to get help in the store is next to impossible. The inventory levels are usually right as per the website. Ordering online is problematic. During the pandemic I ordered a bunch of stuff. It takes 2 days to leave the store. If they ship Purolator everything's terrific and I get the delivery the day after it ships. If they ship Canada Post, well, be patient. CT hasn't really got the whole idea of online shopping down properly yet. There's certainly room for improvement. The quality of the products are highly variable. If you look around you can find some really good deals. I've got a toaster that's now 2 1/2 years old and working great. It cost me $7.00. My vacuum is the same age and was on sale for just over $70.00. It's been amazing. There's crap there too. Just be careful.
My computer has erased the invoices I had, so I can't be a verified purchaser. If this site allows it, I'll update this with an invoice or something to prove I actually use this company.

The negative reviews here are by unverified purchasers. I question their authenticity. I've been using GG for 2 1/2 years now and everything has been exceptional. The meat is extremely good as is the produce. I've had one delivery late by 30 minutes (it was snowing). My regular driver likes to deliver early, so he sends me a text asking if I'm up. If he doesn't get a reply he delivers as scheduled. If I'm up, showered and dressed, it's no problem for me. All the drivers have been fun to deal with. I eat a lot of bacon because my doctor is constantly complaining that my sodium is too low. In all this time I've received one package that I thought was too fat. That's out of hundreds of packages. I had one order that was short 4 apples. I got a credit right away for my next order. The ice cream is still very much frozen when I get it.
I ordered once from a competitor because GG's payment processor was down. Never again, if I can help it. The meat wasn't as good and the produce was kind of questionable. Plus the driver was grumpy.
As of this writing, Longo's (Grocery Gateways parent company) has just been 51% purchased by the parent company of Sobey's. I really hope they don't change anything. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Tip for consumers:
Don't trust the bad reviews.

Yes, they're expensive. But you get way more than what you paid for. Sales is excellent as is shipping. The after-sales service is beyond reproach. I've purchased 2 sound systems from them and when I did have a problem with an out of warranty unit, it was repaired quickly and another year was added to the warranty. You get what you pay for. By

Verified purchase

The 80 sq ft 'rug' weighs less than 20 lbs. It's about as thick as 2 towels. There is no nap to it. It's a sick greeenish-brown rather than the gold I ordered. Don't let the. Ca at the end of the web address fool you too. It's a US company that ships from South Carolina. It came folded. How do you fold a real rug? It is certainly nothing like the pictures they publish. A total waste of my time, energy and money. They ship by Fedex, which is probably the worst shipping operation in Canada. It arrived 4 business days late.
Being disabled, it's going to be a real pain to return. I can't even figure out how I'll repackage it. After my experience here and with Wayfair I'm never going to buy from a US retailer again, and I'm not going to buy from anyone that uses Fedex. I'll check next time. Live and learn, I guess.
