I took my 7 year old granddaughter to Bass River Mercantile in South Yarmouth. It is a hugely overpriced, but fun looking store. It's one of those places where there are lots and lots of 'thingies' and you can browse for a long time. I had wanted to check this place out for years and I had promised her I would take her to a store and she could buy a few things. So, off we went. The place seemed perfect for what we were looking for. All was good and we were having a fun time browsing and putting things in our basket. We went to a lower area to look at stuff and less than a minute later a man (who came from the front of the store and stood on a ramp above us) asked if he could help. I said, 'No thanks. We're just browsing." (at this time my grandaughter was on the other side of a display shelf looking at things). About 30 seconds later he asked her if she needed heip. I said, 'No thanks we're just browsing.' (he continued peering at us with his arms folded in front of him) Within less than 2 minutes he asked the same thing two more times. I was beginning to feel quite uncomfortable as I believe he thought we were going to take something without paying for it. I finally said "Look, we're browsing. She (pointing to my granddaughter) is excited about buying some things. We don't need help." The man started to babble about helping his guests (there were many other customers in the building and I didn't hear him ask one of them). I repeated that we didn't need help and I said, "If you think we're going to take something, you are wrong." The man became angry and continued babbling about 'his guests'. I said I'm uncomfortable about being watched and followed around a store and we left. I'm 70 years old and was in that store with my 7 year old granddaughter. Neither of us look suspect. I took my business elsewhere and my granddaughter found some really cool things at another shop. I'll never go back there.

Tip for consumers:
I wouldn't use the site or go to their store.

We left without purchasing anything.

I ordered from this place for a pick up. When I tried to give the person who took my order my card number he was annoyed. I told him someone else was picking up for me and he put me on hold for quite a while. I placed my order which included a pizza. When we opened the box the pizza was dried out and the whole thing was burned.

I called and after I explained what the problem was, the guy on the phone said, "What do you want me to do about it?" I said, "Maybe you could make another one, because we can't eat this one." He said, "We're not going to do that. Please hold." I was on hold for a long time. He came back and said he told his manager and they cannot rectify this. I told him I was going to write a review on Sitejabber and Yelp and he said, "Go ahead."

Thus, this review. I will never go back to this establishment again. The attitude toward customers is unacceptable.

Tip for consumers:
I wouldn't order from this company. Everyone makes mistakes and things like this sometimes happen. However, when the company asks what you want them to do and then refuses to cook another pizza, that's a problem.

Products used:
We couldn't eat the pizza. It was completely dried out and the entire pizza was burned.

I made a purchase from Wayfair. When I received an email that said my items were delivered I checked and there were no packages. The website said to wait for 3 more days. After investigating further, I found that Wayfair had given both UPS and FedEx wrong delivery addresses. After an extremely long wait on the phone, I finally reached a Wayfair customer service rep. At the end of the conversation the rep told me that Wayfair could do nothing for me and that I should hunt down the addresses and try to retrieve my merchandise! I have had some experiences with bad customer service, but this one rings the bell. I will never use that company again!

Tip for consumers:
Don't use Wayfair, go somewhere else.

I ordered two(expensive) pineapples from this company. Not only did they arrive a day late, but they were both rotted and had to be thrown away. I contacted the company and they would not give me a refund. They said they do not refund. Bad company that doesn't care about customer satisfaction.

I am updating this review on 1-18-22. I just received notice that Goldbelly is refunding my money for the rotted pineapple. I believe my review in Sitejabber helped them to change their mind about no refund. In the end, they did the right thing.

Tip for consumers:
Stay clear of Goldbelly. They do not stand behind their products.

Products used:
I couldn't use either of the two pineapples I purchased as they were rotted. Goldbelly refused to refund me even though they sold me rotted fruit. I cut these pineapples within an hour of receiving them. They were rotten.

This is, by far, one of the worse companies I have ever dealt with! I have been trying to get in touch with them for months. I've been on hold for hours and still have not been able to reach a live person. I emailed them twice and after waiting for a response for weeks, I was told to call the company!
I received an order of six 5 gallon jugs of water and every jug tasted like mold. I had to dump all of them. The company makes it nearly impossible to cancel your account and it has been impossible for me to reach anyone to get a refund for the foul water or to have someone pick up the jugs that have been sitting on my deck for months! I am extremely frustrated with this company and would never recommend them to anyone.

I placed an order totaling $67.94. It took almost 2 months for it to arrive. The merchandise was cheaply made and ill fitting, so I returned it. The company tried to give me a store credit for a much lower amount than what I paid. I called and was told that because I refused the store credit and wanted a credit to my card, they would only give me $35.00! This company will repackage what I bought and sell it at full price and still keep an extra $32.94 of my money! Beware of this company and all the companies associated with it.

I would stay away from this company and the many companies that are associated with it.

This place is awful. The food is always overcooked. The quality is poor and the prices keep going up while the servings get smaller. Tonight our order was missing the rice. I called and was told they were too busy to fix it. When I insisted, they agreed to send someone with rice. That was an hour and a half ago. Nobody answers the phone. I would never order from this place again.

Horrible company and mediocre product. I paid for, but never received one item. Customer service was horrible. They told me they shipped it and it was the carrier's problem. Even though they took my money and I never received the merchandise, they refused to help me. Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. The one piece I did receive was nothing like the pictures. I will never order from Betabrand again and strongly recommend that you don't either.
