1. The whole Tax1099.com interface it NOT intuitive at all, hard to figure out what to do in what order. It definitely needs a re-design.
2. Had issues pulling in data from QBO, had to use Excel spreadsheet instead which took time to setup.
3. The download all or multiple PDF option was not working. We had to do each one manually, one-by-one.
4. The payment process is confusing (pre-payment vs. post-payment).
5. Customer Service was easy to reach, courteous, and helpful.
6. The site has good prices, though it's tiered and a little confusing. For example, when you do 11 - 100 forms, the price drops, but only for the 11th through 100th form. You still pay the base price for forms 01 through 10. A little confusing, but not a deal breaker.

Hi DG, thank you for your input. Were you able to complete your 1099? We'd like to reach out to you by phone and see if there's anything else we can do for you to make sure you're taken care of. -Tom/Tax1099

I've ordered about 8 "gigs"... had some really good work done and have only had one bad gig that totally didn't deliver what they had promised, and I gave them a correspondingly bad review. However, reaching out to Customer Service for a different issue has been a major pain in the@#$. They take a VERY long time to respond and then finally come up with an answer that doesn't even match your question.

So you find a freelancer that might fit the bill, you cannot direct message them without an upgraded account. You can "Invite" them which means you have to post a job to all freelancers, not just to the person you are interested in. In order to direct message the freelancer, I had to use the Hire option but I still don't really know if I want to hire this person since we haven't even exchanged even one msg. Goofy system (by design).

Have been a user (for personal email) for many, many years. Seems like lately, it's just been a bunch of!@#$%. It's been many issues, but today I can't even forward emails. I use Gmail for work, and have to admit I'm liking it more and more.

Pros:

1. Can pay by subscription or by contact.
2. If you upload a primary photo, they are very specific that it's a large clear face pic.

Cons:

1. Regarding #2 above, they don't require you to upload a primary photo... so a LOT of blank profiles.
2. I realize there are a LOT of people that probably like knowing they are viewed. To me, it means nothing, a complete waste of time. I view other profiles like I look at new clothes in the store... I pick up a lot, look it over, and put it back on the rack. It doesn't mean I'm shy, coy, or playing hard to get. So sending other people notices that I viewed them is very annoying to me. In addition, receiving notices that others have viewed me, is just as annoying. If sites are going to do this, they should at least allow you to control these outgoing and incoming "viewed" notices.
3. Right after I created a profile but before I uploaded a picture I immediately received an email request by a very goodlooking young guy to upload a picture (I'm gay btw). I now realize and highly suspect it was a FAKE profile and the request was automatically generated by the system. I don't like sites that mess with your feelings and your head.

Regarding #2: Viewed notices can be disabled in member's preferences
Regarding #3: ME creates NO fake accounts. WE NEVER send fake system e-mails. The e-mail you received was from a real member interested in you. It's regrettable that you imagined it was fake. It was real.

We are not an E-commerce site/store, this is not a full-time gig for us, we run another business, this was our very first item. The buyer ended up siting two things "Item not as described" and later "Item defective", both were not true and inaccurate. Ebay forced the return and when we got the box back, items worked fine but we were missing items, Ebay said they could not help with that (of course). They gave the buyer a refund but then claimed ignorance when we were missing items. The Buyer was believed on everything, the Seller nothing.

Oh well, now I know why people are switching to Amazon.

Was told by the Sales Rep she could beat the rate of our then current processor. Our previous processor was averaging about 2.7% effective rate monthly, that's inclusive of all fees, charges, etc. The Wells Fargo Sales Rep quoted a rate of 2.2% plus a few small extra fees, but didn't mention ANYTHING about the interchange fees. And we sent her statements from our previous processor so she could do a competitive analysis. After we switched to Wells Fargo, the effective rate was 2.84% (first month), 5.15% (second month), and finally 7.99% (third and last month), before we finally cancelled. Took me over a month to reach the Sales Rep's supervisor (she would never call back) and her only way of an apology or explanation was saying the Sales Rep was new and would get more training. I would NEVER do business with Wells Fargo Merchant Services again and I'm looking and switching all my regular business banking as well.

Tip for consumers:
What else is there to add, this outfit is horrible.

1. First, I don't understand people that complain about spending a little money to potentially meet someone and yet they won't hesitate dropping $5 or $6 on a coffee drink. I spent $56.21 for a six month membership in Oct 2014. I actually called Customer Service to ask a question and he/she offered to drop the activation/registration fee ($25, I think), if I joined right then... so I gave it a try.

2. I knew I was in trouble from the very beginning when some Zoosk censor edited my profile. I can understand removing email addresses, phone numbers, profanity, etc. But all I put was "please be patient with me, I don't log on very often." They removed the "I don't log on very often", so it was "please be patient with me" which makes it sound like I'm a little "slow".

3. One of my pics was a chest shot (no frontal nudity) and they removed the pic, could never figure out why.

4. Like so many other reviews have stated, the Zoosk Coins thing is very annoying. It feels like you are being nickel and dimed, even after you have PAID for membership.

5a. The Carousel feature is very strange. You are asked if you are interested in someone based solely on their age and picture (pretty shallow if you are looking for something more meaningful). I thought it was a tool to learn more about your tastes, so the site could make more educated matches. I didn't know it was actually sending messages to the people I answered yes.

5b. Now the people that show up in this Carousel feature are no where in your immediate geographic area. So you could be responding yes to people in neighboring states. I live in Las Vegas and got messages from California, Utah, Arizona... most of the Western US. I don't think those other guys realized I was far away as well.

6. The chat feature is dumb. How hard is it to create a straightforward program to exchange messages back and forth? But somehow Zoosk managed to screw that up as well.

7. There's a SmartPic feature where Zoosk picks a potential meetup, you have 24 hours to reply. In the whole six months, I replied to approx. 20 but never heard back from one.

8. Like other reviews have stated, you do get lots of messages from other people but when you reply, you never hear back from them. Which makes you think the original message was a fake message generated by Zoosk.

9. I should have read the Sitejabber reviews on Zoosk before I joined. Oh well, next time.

  • Hotwire

My basic problem is undisclosed "resort" fees. Like airlines, one would expect the hotels to be not forthcoming (unscrupulous) about all these additional fees. HOWEVER, I would also expect Hotwire to be on the consumers side and disclose the additional MANDATORY fees in their price listings... that is not the case. Not only does Hotwire not disclose the fees, the won't allow you to mention the fees in the reviews on their website. So they are clearly in the pocket of the vendors they represent. So that's the first and last time I use Hotwire.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site.
