This visit was instigated by the daughter as a birthday gift in respect of a fifty pounds gift voucher, which paid a proportion of the meal.
The Entrance you are greeted to a wall and a bar to the left, no sign directing you to the restaurant, I stumbled upon it when i was looking to find a bartender, so i could place a drinks order and ask for the dining room location. I placed a drinks order, the wife's was presented wrong, I waited a further 10min for my drink but secume and decided to go to the bar myself. I was approached by the matrodiee who said he would fetch my drink, and a "ye sorry ill get it for you now".
The food
STARTER, the wife's was placed with two shavings of butternut squash (Thinner than wafer thin ham from the supermarket pre packed section) and the cheese had as much tase as water. I opted for the cheese soufflé and was happy with my selection (never had it before so nothing to compare it against). However the server failed to inform me that the second bowl in which it was served was as hot as the laver fields in La Palma of the Canary Islands (seriously burn fingers).
MAINS; I went with the Mixed Grill which was on the menu with an extensive wordy depiction but little substance of what it actually consisted of and was again i was left with a questioning was this it, was this what was trying to describe what you received on the menu. Unfortunately it was a pork chop and a sausage. The chop had been left under the heat lamp or cooked too long and was on the verge of dry. The sausage was acceptable but over seasoned for my pallet.
The wife's Halibut was tasty. Thankfully we ordered extra chips to bulk up the megare portions, but had to ask for them to be served.
During the meal i was ready for an drink so when the waiter asked if everything was okay the wife said she was happy, i turned to place the drinks order but she just walked off.
DESERT; i never ordered as i just wanted to leave, and will not be returning as it was overpriced for the poor service and food.
Overall very disappointing night
