I purchased a Double High Raised Queen Air Mattress Embark at Target on 05/17/2019 for 45.99. I took the mattress home, opened it and the quality was poor. On 05/21/2019 I tried to return the air mattress. I was told that Target does not take back air mattresses once the box has been open, but I could up-grade to another air mattress. The cashier said that there were signs ported stating that. She called over, what I assume was the manager, he repeated the same statement that the cashier told me. I asked to speak to the store manager once I figured out that he was not the manager. The manager came over and preceded to tell me the same thing as the first two Target employees told me.
I tried to explain to them that there was not a sign at the time that I purchased the air mattress, the Target employee that helped me pick out the air mattress, did not tell me, and the checkout cashier did not explain to me that if I open the box I could not return the air mattress. I asked for the number to the cooperate office. I spoke with several different people to try and get this matter resolved. I explained to each person I spoke with, about what happened, the response of the Rancho Cucamonga Store Employees and that my problem was not getting my money back, but that no one told me that I could not return the air mattress if the box was opened.
This all started at approximately 12:30pm and went on until, roughly around 5:00pm. The last person I spoke with in the cooperate office told me that it did not make any sense with what the employees was telling me was, and that they would return my money. She apologized for any inconvenience, and that someone for Rancho Cucamonga Target would be calling me to confirm their decision. The last phone call I received was from someone from the Rancho Cucamonga Store. She introduce herself and preceded to ask me the same question that the employees from her store had asked be earlier. By this time I was feeding my family and told her that I did not have time to continue to go over the same questions that I had been asked all day. She said that she did not work on Wednesdays, and would call me on Thursday to try and get this matter resolved. My experience with Target was not a good one today. I have shopped at this store for over 27 years, but I can truly say that I am very disappointed in their service and the way this situation was handled.
