8/2/21

So this store, Tokyo Smoke which is located at 2375 Brimley Road, Unit 6, Scarborough, Ontario M1S 3L6, only opened on June 11,2021. ON or around June 15,2021 I went in to buy some stuff for friends and family. On person got sick and I went back to let them know only to find out that they give me a different item to the one I asked four times to buy, they told me that it was only in a bottle coming from their manufacturer but they give me the wrong item and sold me on the price of the item that I asked for. The manager, named, Zadeh F. Mohammad, told me, after going through their sales, claim she cannot find the purchase in their computer system and that I should see if I can find the receipt and she will give me back my money or the right product that I ordered. However, could not find the receipt but to think that they are newly opened and put order in the cash software system and cannot find it after only opening for under three weeks, says a scam in on-folding. I went back and told her that I could not find the receipt but brought the store bags and the containers back. The containers has the scanning code that was scanned into their sales systems. As I got to the door, she said, "well there's nothing I can do", "I need the receipt to find the sale", every other store can find their sale with the scanning code including Walmart, Shoppers, even Dollarama. However, I asked her for the head office phone number to file a complaint, she said that, "they have no head office", "this is the only location we have, I asked her for the owner to contact me to file a complaint, only after she realized that I am not going anywhere, did she eventually claim that she is calling the owner, she then tried to give me the shop phone, so I said no, since there is a pandemic let me give you my number and he can call me there, so she give him the number and he called me and claimed that he is the owner and his name is Richard Bailey and that he owned the store and that there was no other stores, that was the only location, the same as the manager said too. Turned out, after extensive research, not only Richard Bailey is not the owner and just an employee, they do have a head office and they do have other locations, in many cities and provinces including a location at Yonge Street and Lawrence Avenue West in North York, I went online and the number they refused to give me, I was able to find and also was able to enter a live chat with their head office. Turns out, Tokyo Smoke and Tweed are both owned by Spectrum Therapeutics, a renowned medical company and largest distributors. The fact that they lied to my face says a lot about who they hire. Now, someone called me and said he could not process my complaint unless he got my date of birth, the same information the complaint staff told me was optional, keeping in mind they sold me products without asking for my date of birth but now that there is an issue after many cover ups they want my date of birth which is optional and was not needed for purchase. In fact, their only focus when they called was, they assumed it was an allergy that someone got sick, at no time did they take responsibility that they sold me the wrong product that was not only wrong but also bad/rotted. Well, lets see when the owner will get on to this as I will not stop until they take responsibility for their actions and to lie about only having one location and no head office and can't find sale with a store that has only opened less than three weeks prior. Of course I was able to submit the information to the regulators so they were better off paying me back my money because it beats the odds.

Tip for consumers:
Boycott them

Products used:
Unsure since they give me the wrong product.

Verified purchase

So, I read the website and read the gift card advertising before purchasing for a ride. The ride said between $23 and $29 for the distance so I bought $30. The website says, "only if you don't have enough balance for your ride you will have to buy another gift card and add" couldn't get my ride because I kept getting an error message that in order to use my gift card I have to add a credit card. Well false advertising because as attached, the website said only if you did not have enough gift card balance for the cost of the ride, then I tried to count my losses and buy food instead, it said the same thing eventhough the food cost is much less than my balance. I hope they get rich of of robbing a senior and committing false advertising because if I had a credit card I would not have had to buy the gift card with my last money and still had to ended up taking the bus for $2.10 so buyer beware. I lost $30.00 for a $2.10 ride, Boycott them and hit them where it hurts, don't ever buy their gift cards.

Tip for consumers:
Boycott Uber and their gift cards too, use Lyft instead.

Products used:
Nothing, they took all my money and then I had to take the local bus for $2.10 and ride for more than one hour in a pandemic.
