Shop and scan is great! It's only for UK folks so anyone else won't be able to take part unfortunately.

You basically get vouchers for scanning the barcodes of your grocery shopping.

Pros of the site

* Excellent staff team running it, I've emailed them twice and they always email back promptly and come up with a solution.
* Simple to use scheme and vouchers are generous for the amount of time spent (I get £10 every six weeks or so, I only spend 10 mins a week scanning my shopping)
* They send you the little scanner, a cable and a barcode book for fruit and veg, free of charge (you don't have to "buy in" to the scheme - it's all free)
* Good choice of different vouchers. I normally get an amazon e voucher but I have got house of fraser ones too.
* They give triple points at Christmas and new year
* Occasionally I get sent a survey about something I buy, that gives you extra points (about a pound in points for a five minute survey)
* I secretly love the little scanner. It's fun blipping the barcodes.

Cons

* You have to join a waiting list before you can join the scheme :( But for me this only took 6 weeks of waiting
* The scanning part of the website only works in Internet Explorer. But recently they created a desktop application you could download so you can do it from there rather than IE which suits me better.
* If you had a large family, this could be a lot more work. As we are just a couple, we don't have loads of shopping each week, so we would need to scan less than people who buy more.

In short, if you are in the UK, you'd like some vouchers and you think you have time to scan your shopping, check it out.

This site used to be great. They changed it and now it is terrible. Slow and painful to use and the surveys seem to ask loads more questions than they used to, timing out half the time after you've wasted fifteen minutes of your life trying to fill it in. Once I got my £40 I stopped using it. It took me years of trying to do surveys every day (and filling in half of them and then it saying I didn't qualify and so I wouldn't get my five pence). Slave labour to be honest.

This website is amazing. It has changed my life forever. If you are a knitter or crocheter and you haven't tried it yet, I cannot recommend it enough. It is an amazing database of yarns, patterns and projects. I use it to keep track of my yarn, my queue of patterns I'd like to knit. You can enter all the knitting books and magazines you own and then search within your own library from the comfort of your computer. For someone with a lot of yarn and a lot of knitting magazines this is extremely useful. It's free, the people who run it are lovely and the forums are really helpful too.

What are you waiting for? Go try it out.

I've been using this website for just over a month but I won't anymore. It seems like a very critical place, and not in the constructive criticism way. I personally have only posted a few messages in forums and haven't been picked on, but reading around, you are likely to get shot down if you do anything they consider wrong.

I've read teenage writers posting for the first time and getting the Simon Cowell treatment from other users, including mods. And this isn't for their writing, but for questions they ask in forums. I know newbies are annoying when they make errors, but I think human beings should still treat each other with respect.

Because I decided I wouldn't be using the site anymore, I went to delete my account, only to find that you can't. I also can't delete the three posts I've posted in forums. I would not recommend this site, I wish I had never joined.
