This is an online forum to ask questions. I found it hard to use. Things that should be simple are complicated. You are given a limited time to have your question open. After a time, Reddit will close your question and no more answers will be accepted. This is a very stupid policy. I asked one question about Star Wars two years ago and no one answered even though it indicated that it had views.

Mostly people posts asinine jokes that are very dated and I get tired of reading them. You may use this if you have a burning question that is popular, otherwise I recommend that you try your luck somewhere more reliable.

The most common use for this site is the IAmA for professionals or celebrities who have a unique experience and offer a chance for people to ask them anything. Example: I Am A movie star, Ask me Anything.

I need to add that this site discriminates users if your opinions do not agree with their unenlightened administrators. Find a better forum for asking questions. Yahoo Answers was much better and will get immediate responses to any question.

FINAL COMMENT: Reddit does not believe in the freedom of speech, the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. They are unAmerican because they do not believe in these ideals. Reddit administrators harass their users when they censor them. I have firsthand experience in this. They are the perfect candidate for a for a class-action lawsuit.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid it. Find a better forum.

  • Quora

I somehow was automatically given a Quora account via my Google account which was convenient. I was deleted because my answers were too explicit or too honest. They even $#*!ed that I was using my God Given nickname and not my real name. Curiously they kept my account active through a loophole using my other e-mail address which is strange.

Play by their rules only if you like using Quora to ask and answer stupid questions. If you can tolerate censorship, you will fit right in. This is not for everyone.

  • MovieChat LLC

The Internet Movie Database shut down it's forums a few years ago and I needed a place to ask questions about my favorite movies. Last year I found Moviechat. I signed up and never got confirmation to start typing my questions.

I contacted a number of administrators from the help center and only one replied that the person in charge will eventually get to my e-mail. One year later I am still waiting.

This site is poorly administered and should be avoided. I will continue to find a better forum for my film queries.

  • Blendr

Blendr is a load of crap. There probably are success stories out there. But those must be very few. If you succeeded with dating apps and dating sites, you must look like Brad Pitt. For the rest of us, it sucks to be the average man.

This was the next app I downloaded when I bought my first Smartphone last year and I had high hopes to try a better way to meet women.

I have the same stories as before with online dating: NADA! The swiping seems like a novelty to me like shopping for women to hookup with but none are ever interested. To add insult to injury, I bought a daily pass to see and message those women who viewed my profile. I messaged a few women whom I was matched with but I never get a definite reply back which just tells me this is b. S. I did specify one DAILY PASS, but if you do not make a cancellation, this automatically renews without your consent. I deleted this app from taking up valuable space on my Android.

Tinder is a log of crap. There probably are suck-cess stories from the loin down there. But those must be very few. If you succeeded with dating apps and dating sites, you must look like Brad Pitt. For the rest of us, it sucks to be the average man.

I have the same stories as before with online dating: NADA! The swiping seems like a novelty to me like shopping for women to hookup with but none are ever interested. To add insult to injury, I explicitly stated on my profile that I am heterosexual and that I only want women. I would occasionally get homos and transhomos in my matches which just tells me this is b. S. I deleted this app from taking up valuable space on my Android.

  • PurplePort

I opened an account hoping to show off my photography and recruit models. I uploaded small images to get a feel for this site. Within days they closed my account with a message stating that my images do not meet the minimum guidelines of dimensions. What a sham. I am an amateur photographer with some schooling and can safely say this place is to be avoided.

  • Logos.wikia

Have you ever wanted to see the brief history of a logo of a brand or car maker? This is the site where almost any logotype from automakers to clothing to television and to video games can be found. It showcases the symbols starting from its beginning to the present. It is in wiki format where anyone can contribute.

  • Discogs

1/9/19

Like Blu-ray.com, this is the place to build your collection of music on CD's, vinyl and audio cassettes. Even MP3 files are listed sometimes. This is the place I use to showcase my CD titles. I have not used the marketplace to buy or sell and therefore I cannot comment on that.

  • Plenty of Fish

It's free. I never get responses. Most of the women are not attractive. The world is supposed to be plentiful of fish looking for a mate yet I have never found one here. Most of us will never find love in any form we try and the electronic world is no different. But I least I don't have to pay. You get what you pay for. You see what I mean?

  • Student Success Platform

Portfolium is another social network similar to LinkedIn. Students can showcase their work and connect with their schools.

Tip for consumers:
Show your best work.

  • RateMyProfessors

Students can now grade the teachers. Did your professor make the cut? Don't get stuck with a bad apple anymore. Having a bad teacher should be a thing of the past. This site is very helpful to find out if it is worth the money and time to take a class with a specific instructor. Professors are graded on a number of criteria, primarily overall quality of teaching and level of difficulty. In addition you can select three tags as individual options as to whether she/he is heavy on textbooks, requires class participation or is maybe laid back and cool. One major option that was eliminated was the controversial hotness rating. In the past you were able to grade the instructor on attractive appearance. Sad to see it gone but maybe it's for the best.

  • LinkedIn

1/3/19

The social networks have become the norm where friends connect online. This is the equivalent for the employment network. Prospecting employees and employers can connect with each other. This may seem like a good thing, yet I have encountered many charlatans advertising their home businesses to me hoping to get me to invest. Some terrible agencies like Workway have wasted my time at least three times. I have not found a job with this service so don't get your hopes up.

  • Yelp

1/3/19

Like the old Yellow Pages and Google maps, Yelp is the place to read and write reviews about a business. Seems like a good place to find restaurants and anything else. I noticed that Yelp takes a long time to publish my reviews after I submit them. Maybe it's just a glitch.

  • Blu-ray

2/20/18

I love Blu-rays! Build your collection of DVD's and BD's, write reviews and upload images of your home theater systems. If you have a question about HD, receivers or anything video related, ask in the forums.

  • Wookieepedia

Wookieepedia! It has everything you want to know about Star Wars canon. It is in wiki format where anyone can contribute.

  • Google Maps

12/5/17

Are you looking for a gasoline station or a restaurant? Have you been curious about a place you want to visit? Google Maps has reviews from mostly real people who write about their experiences about a company or a place to visit. If you had a good or a bad experience at a store, this is a good place to tell about it.
Google Maps does have its problems. They censor things sometimes with no clear reason.

  • Meetup

12/5/17

This is the age of social media and Meetup is the new way to supposedly "meet" people. Although it is easy to sign up, some groups are excessively exclusive to join. Some group leaders also suffer from mental problems or drama and will block/remove you from their group for unexplained reasons. Some groups are just plain phony where you pay to attend an information seminar and the hosts are just charlatans who use it as their way of making a living.
Meetup has not helped me find real friends, yet there have been some good free events worth attending. Your Mileage Will Vary.

  • Facebook

12/5/17

Facebook was meant to be a fun place to socialize as the network suggests. It was nice in the beginning to post fun pictures and read friend's updates. Then it became a place for high school age drama. Female friends would ignore me, female acquaintances would block me, "friends" would unfriend me. In the end I felt left out. FOMO. Fear of Missing Out led to bigger depression for me and I decided to close my account for the sake of my health. My family will have to use older methods of communication to contact me.

“I hope by now you have filed a complaint with the FTC.gov. With enough complaints about illegal business practices they can be shut down and forbidden from doing trade in the same business.”
