I've recently written a similar review of their sister store, HealthyPets. I kind of expected this might happen with EntirelyPets... and it did, again. My order is backordered, along with my other order with HealthyPets.

I have been ordering from EntirelyPets for 10+ years. Many of my orders shipped and arrived without any issues, but 3 out of 30 orders I placed with EntirelyPets were backordered. Their sister store, HealthyPets, 2 out of 6. I think I am being fair giving the company 2 stars, with my experience and complaints from fellow Sitejabbers.

Some of you reading my review are probably thinking "why are you still buying from them"? I know, but I have a dog that are on many medications and supplements. With her food, treats, supplies... it really adds up. I order from EntirelyPets or HealthyPets if their prices are better than other retailers. They do have good prices, especially with coupons, discounts and promotions. Sometimes price plays a big part in my purchase decisions.

I see a lot of reviews and complaints about similar backorder issues. EntirelyPets and HealthyPets still don't have systems that reflects actual inventory. Saying items are "in stock" at time of order when they actually don't have them is very dishonest and disrespectful way to do business. Keep selling what they don't actually have is even worse. One of my items that has been backordered for almost 2 weeks is still sold on their website, no indications whatsoever if this item won't ship right away.

If you are not in a hurry to get something specific, EntirelyPets is a good place to shop. When they have what you want in stock, order ships pretty quickly. If you need something right away, however, you might want to stay away from EntirelyPets or HealthyPets. You don't want to gamble or hope that they actually have what you need, especially when other retailers don't have what you are looking for. I'll see what happens to both of my orders. So far, I received 2 emails, 1 from each company, only telling me my orders are backordered. It's been 2 weeks since then, and no updates. Using their website link and email to ask them about my orders didn't really help, either, I haven't yet received any response or updates.

EntirelyPets - If you are not planning on updating your system to monitor/track your on-hand inventory, please, at least be honest and say "out of stock" or tell customers estimated back in stock date? There will be less emails, phone calls, frustrations... I think that will save both of our times.

I shop around, I am always looking for good deals (who wouldn't). HealthyPets often offers promotions, coupons, and has decent prices. If you are not rushing to get something, HealthyPets is a great place to shop. If you need something urgently, and HealthyPets seems to be the only place where you can find what you need, the chances are, they don't have it, even if their website says "in stock".

I placed 6 orders with HealthyPets in the last year and half. Everything was "in stock" when I placed my orders, yet, 2 of my orders came back as back-ordered after the fact. I placed orders, received order confirmation emails, then received backordered emails. One of my orders did not ship until weeks later, but the back-ordered/out of stock items showed "in stock" on their website the entire time.

HealthyPets needs a system that will reflect the actual inventory accurately. They need to tell their customers at time of order if products aren't available. Saying items are in stock when they aren't is very unprofessional. They also have to be better at updating customers on a regular basis.

Also, HealthyPets will not ship your order if your order contains a back-ordered item. They won't split and ship your order in phases, they will not ship your order until all items become available. In stock items will be held hostage (lol). This is a very common practice, but it would be nice if options are given as to how customers want to proceed, so the wait doesn't end up being too long.

HealthyPets has good selection, great promotions and specials, if everything you need is "in stock". Sadly, you have no way of knowing that until you actually place an order. Until they improve their website that automatically adjust to reflect actual item count, I will be ordering from elsewhere, especially something that I need right away.

If you are simply buying food, treats, supplies... things that arent temperature sensitive, you will probably be okay. If you are ordering Adequan or anything that you do not want to degrade its quality, please shop elsewhere. I am sorry for this long harsh-sounding review, but I thought I should share my experience. I dont want other people to go through the same troubles I went through, twice!

My pup gets an Adequan injection every week. For those who dont know, Adequan has very specific storage and excursion conditions (store at 68° to 77°F, excursions permitted to 59° to 86°F with higher temperature permitted for a short stretch of time). The product has a very short shelf life, too. When I order Adequan, I check store locations, time for the store to communicate with my vet, and weekly weather. I pay more for overnight shipping, so it gets here with minimal exposure to heat or cold. I try buying 6-8 vails in spring and fall, enough to last during summer and winter months. You probably think I am crazy, but my pup goes through a vail that costs $60-70 every 3 weeks. You understand why I do what I do, youd do the same for your pup, right?

My vet decided to give my pup a weekly Adequan injection last winter. She used to get a shot every 2 weeks, so the supplies I thought I had for the whole winter ran out a lot earlier than I expected. We live in Michigan. Even if I pay for overnight shipping, it has to travel outside manufacturers recommended excursion condition. I was a bit reluctant to place my order, but then I found that we were expecting a several days of unbelievably warm weather (50s). I asked PetSupplies4Less to please wait for a few days and ship my order on one of the warmer days. It didnt happen. They shipped my order right away. I had to call FedEx a few times to make sure that my order wont sit in a delivery truck in extreme weather. It worked out okay in the end (after paying extra directly to FedEx in addition to the overnight shipping I had already paid), but it would have been less worrisome if they waited for a day or two and shipped my order. Frustrated, I contacted PetSupplies4Less shortly after receiving my order. I did not get any response.

This incident should have been enough not to do business with them again, but I decided place another order. I know, its my fault, I thought twice about ordering from them again, but I couldnt resist $30 price difference - $400 vs. around $430 or more from other companies. Again, I paid them to ship my order overnight, thinking nothing will go wrong this time. Well, something did go wrong. They shipped my order on Friday, contrarily to what they say on their website: Overnight Service orders are shipped Monday-Thursday. Shipping something on Friday via standard overnight using UPS or FedEx - without shipper adding Saturday delivery option - means your package has a chance to sit or be held somewhere in transit over the weekend. They say they only ship Adequan Monday-Thursday, why did my order go out on Friday? By the time I received their shipping/tracking emails, my order had already been picked up and I had very little control over it. Again, I had to make several phone calls to FedEx. Luckily, the package came all the way to Michigan overnight without being held at their way stations or hubs (90 to 100 degrees at each location), and FedEx kindly allowed me to pick up the package at their station on Saturday (FYI - the package wasnt due until Monday as it was shipped via standard overnight. FedEx didnt have to release it but the location manager personally called me and told me to come pick it up - kudos to FedEx:-).

Adequan is a delicate product. PetSupplies4Less clearly indicates the product is sensitive to heat and cold. They explain how and when they ship it. Customers pay $5.25 for a cooler and handling in addition to overnight or 2-day shipping (a cooler and handling fee are automatically added to your cart when you buy Adequan). No, I am not complaining about shipping charge or paying for a cooler if that keeps the product from degrading. I am just saying they seem to know what they are doing and how to handle the product, so what happened here?

I only ordered Adequan from them twice, but both times PetSupplies4Less (or Lambert Pet Supply, they are the same company) shipped my orders from a pet pharmacy in Kansas. I have no problem with drop shipping, but to me it is clear that PetSupplies4Less only processed and sent their orders to the pharmacy and did not communicate with them as to when to ship their orders. I want to give a credit to the pharmacy that actually shipped my orders because both my orders were packaged well. They used thermal packs inside, and on the outside they visibly indicated the package contains something perishable and not to be exposed to heat or light.

I was in customer service and sales. I worked very closely with people in logistics, too. I dont expect everyone to have the same work ethic I had (not everyone can pay attention to detail, admit mistakes, or go extra mile for customers), but I cant do business with a company that doesnt respond or do what they promised to do. Their price is very attractive, but sometimes price isnt the only factor when doing business. Maybe this doesnt happen often and I was just unlucky, but I will be ordering Adequan from someone else from now on. Third time is the charm? No, I dont think I am willing to take that risk. Sorry, PetSupplies4Less!

5/4/15

I bought a few things from BaxterBoo last October. Since then, I am a regular shopper (at least that's what I think I am:-).

BaxterBoo is more like an online "boutique" store, just like a ritzy doggie boutique nestled in the heart of downtown... New York, Chicago, SF... you know what I mean.:-) This isn't a place you would shop at frequently because their price may be a bit higher, but it's perfect for that special something.

They stand by their products and accept returns 365 days from the date of original purchase, but refund will be issued as a store credit if they don't receive the return within 15 days (I think that's what it said on the packing list). I did make a mistake with my dog's measurements when I bought her a winter coat, but return/exchange was a breeze. They issued me a store credit, and I used that to buy a smaller coat. I only had to pay return shipping.

They often have online coupons, specials, free shipping... so look for coupons and compare prices with other stores before you click "place order". If you then decide to buy from them, I am sure you will be pleased with your purchase!

I have been ordering from Chewy.com for quite some time now, and let me tell you, they are AWESOME! They are the greatest place to order from, and you get your order really fast! If you have any problems, they help you out in every possible way.

One time I received a wrong product (this totally WASN'T their fault, I blame Scott Pet Product for their unbelievable product change, replacing real chicken with sweet potato with artificial flavoring and coloring and calls it "chicken flavored"... shame on them!). When I told them I wasn't aware of the product change and asked if I can return them for refund, they told me not to return but donate them to a local shelter. Not only they provide a wide selection of high quality products, they support NPO and rescue/shelters, how great is that?

I make a LOT of online purchases for my pup, and Chewy.com by far ranks #1 on my list. Product, price, and service... Chewy.com has it all. Their customer service is the friendliest and most helpful I've ever encountered.

There should be more company's like Chewy.com! They are the best of the best!
