I already had an ID.ME account and uploaded all the required identity documents, so I thought that I was good to go. However, when the VA switched their system, now requiring ID.ME, rather than allowing me fully access with my military CAC, I ran into a snag that I could not do anything about, being stationed overseas, so my access to my VA stuff online was severely limited.

Fast forward to the present. I need that document that the IRS sent out for the child credit payments. I need to do that with the IRS online and they use ID.ME. I signed into my ID.ME account and had to go through a process of taking pictures of my drivers license, tribal ID card, passport, etc..., then uploading those pictures because I live and am stationed in the UK and I can't get around this because I do not have a US phone number. So, everything uploaded and it says you have to do a video chat and whatnot, then it shows the next slot is in 2 hours and it is already after 10 PM in England.

ID.ME is absolute garbage because of 2 major reasons. If you have an ID.ME account, you should not have to verify your identity again and upload more stuff, later. It should be done already.

Secondly, it is not a user friendly service for anyone with the military stationed overseas and it is idiotic to ask for documents, IDs, whatever, that show a FULL NAME that MUST match your current address. How in the hell do you do that when a military address overseas is a box address and you are still using a stateside license with your previous address!?

ID.ME needs to do a way better job and to fix these issues. It is frustrating and time consuming, beyond anything considered reasonable.
