My sister had a truly horrific nightmare of an experience with her order from cosplaysupplies.com which is based in Toronto, Canada. Not only did the owner give her excuse after excuse for the month-long delay, the 2 products she received weren't even the products she had ordered! She ordered 2 of the professional makeup artists' grade Graftobian color hair sprays. Instead, she received 2 low grade dollar store color hair sprays meant for Halloween usage. Completely ludicrous why the male owner named Dani would knowingly ship out a cheap low grade replacement as a substitute for items he doesn't have in stock. After 3 telephone calls with the owner and endless empty promises of a refund, the only way my sis was able to rightfully get her money back was when she filed an official PayPal complaint. Only then did Dani finally own up to his unethical wrongdoing and feebly issued the refund. So buy from this scam artist at your own peril, folks.

Superb selection of diff brands. On one shipment, I ordered a Marc By Marc Jacobs item and it was perfectly packaged and I received it in less than 3 days. However, they're shipping options are tricky. For Canadian customers, I highly recommend the Postal delivery option... it's not as fast as the Express delivery
With Shopbop Global option nor the Express delivery option, but there's a lesser chance your parcel will get wacked by import/brokerage fees with the Postal delivery option. I've erred by choosing the Express delivery option and was wacked hard! On a seperate order of another Marc by Marc Jacobs item, I chose the Postal delivery option and got absolutely zero import/brokerage fees... score! :)

HollyNorth rocks! They stock a kickass selection of hard-to-find items from established movie-set brands such as Kryolan and Ben Nye. And their friendly service is second to none. A+

  • Urban Outfitters

I was pissed when I had ordered a pair of shoes from Urbanoutfitters.com that was clearly advertised as an ONLINE ONLY SPECIAL... which means that particular shoe style wasn't available anywhere in the stores... only to stumble upon the SAME style at my local downtown Urban Outfitters store! Not only that, the ones in the store were 1/3 of the price I had paid for them online. False advertising much?!?! After that bad experience, it left a sour taste in my mouth and now I'm wary of their so-called 'online only' specials. Hmmmm.

UPDATE: But since that time, I've placed over 30 orders with them and things have gone smoothly without a hitch. So, UO has redeemed themselves in my eyes. Keep up the great work, UO! :)

All items were carefully wrapped in bubble wrap for protection. Fab selection of beauty brands. I wish they stocked more Kryolan though. Fast and free shipping for orders over $25. Highly recommended site. A+

Excellent selection of products. So far I've ordered from them 8 times and all parcels arrived packed exceptionally well + free bonus sample products. Just received my recent order with a $10 off promo and free shipping... awesome. Highly recommended site.

Ordered twice from this website and was happy with the vast selection of different brands they offer. Fast & free shipping is a bonus as well. On one of my orders, an item was out of stock. However, no one from the warehouse contacted me regarding the out of stock item. Upon receiving the parcel, opening it and realizing one item was missing... my initial reaction was WTFFFF to see one item missing. Then I finally realized it was out of stock only when I saw the item crossed off on the attached invoice. More effective communication skills should have been implemented to lessen the unpleasant surprise to the customer. Contacting the customer via email regarding the out of stock item would have been nice.

I rated it meh cuz I had no problems with my orders from them in the past. They had always been great to Canadian consumers by declaring a lower value on the declaration form. But on my recent order, for some reason, they didn't do things like they usually do, and I got wacked with $97.16 in customs duties. Ffffffffffffffff. And now they no longer offer free shipping for orders $50 or more to Canada. It's only free shipping if you order $150 or more. Booooo! If you want to gain more Canadian customers, it would be nice if you offered USPS Priority or USPS First Class Mail like you used to offer before.

Overall so so merchandise with non-existent customer service. Out of my order of 5 items, a pair of supposedly stretchy lycra leggings didn't fit WHATSOEVER. Sizes were soooooo off. Supposedly they were composed of 3% lycra so they should have stretch in it but they did NOT. Extremely cheap material. I emailed their customer service team and didn't receive anyyyyy response back. Extreeemely poor customer service with no customer service skills whatsoever. They just lost me as a return customer.

Thumbs up to their great customer service team with prompt email responses... they get the job done right to please the customer. Great selection of shoe brands here too. Just received my order with a $15 off promo offer and the Jeffrey Campbell heels fit perrrrfectly. LUV! XOXO

They carry a brand an Australian-based eco-friendly brand I like and the shipping department knows how to package and ship their parcels properly to Canada. Great online shopping site. Way to go collectivehabit.com!

I used to order a lot from Karmaloop but with their partnership with DHL, it has resulted in cray cray ridiculously high brokerage & duty fees to Canada. So I've stopped ordering from this site once and for all. It's too bad cuz they have a pretty good selection of different brands. I emailed them several times regarding this shipping issue and suggested that they start using regular USPS airmail like they used to. But my emails have been ignored and gone unanswered. Nice customer service there. Buy from you never.

No problems ordering from topshop so far. And my recent order arrived with a free bonus cute lil pink tape measure too... adorable :O)

Vast selection of brands as well as LIGHTNING fast shipment of orders. My recent order was received 2 days after I just placed it! EPIC!

I ordered twice from Dorothy Perkins and was pleased with both orders... timely shipment and arrival time as well as good quality of goods.

  • River Island

1/15/13

Nightmare of an experience ordering from them. Again, the actual store is worth shopping at, but not their website. I gotta say that this was hands down THE most horrific online transaction I've ever had in my life. They use a third party shipping service called DPD that will ONLY release the parcel to you if you pay taxes and duties on your parcel BEFOREHAND (before the parcel even reaches your shipping location). I received countless emails that looked like scam emails and phone calls asking me to call them to place a telephone payment. After doing research, I discovered that there is a prevalent FRAUD WARNING on DPD scams. Here it is: http://www.dpd.com/lu_en/Home/Shipping/Fraud-warning

So I contacted River Island customer service regarding this issue and the only thing they did was to instruct me to go ahead and pay them. Usually, I pay the delivery man or Canada Post man any duties and taxes when they hand me the parcel. No way am I placing a telephone payment with my credit card info before my parcel even gets delivered to me. Especially with that obvious DPD Fraud Warning in effect.

All I can say is... RED FLAGS MUCH?!?! Never again will I dare order from River Island again that's for sure.

  • Miss Selfridge

I HIGHLY HIGHLY do NOT recommend this online site to order from. If you're a fan of MissSelfridge's, I recommend shopping realtime in their store rather than ordering from their $#*!ty online website. My order took a month and a half to arrive. According to the tracking information, it indicated that my parcel was shipped to Malaysia first then travelled around the world and back to me. After numerous emails to their Customer Service team, none of my emails were responded to. NONE! Completely non-existent customer service. Never again.

  • Debenhams

1/15/13

Ever since purchasing a few of their Lipsy and Warehouse brand dresses from the Debenham's store on Oxford in London a few yrs ago, I checked out their website and decided to order a few items online. Prompt, well-packaged shipment with and the parcel arrived with no customs duties fees which was great.

  • Neiman Marcus

1/15/13

Because of Neiman's high calculation of estimated taxes, delivery & processing, and duty & brokerage fees already added to the final cost, I have my orders delivered to my cousin in the States who then ships it to me. This process is even more economically feasible than buying online from Neiman's and shipping it to me in Canada. So, my advice is to only buy from Neiman's online if you're desperate for an item. Otherwise, ur better off shopping in their stores when you're on vacay in the States.

  • ThreadSence

1/15/13

Alot of cute pieces at Threadsence.com. Ordered several dresses and tops from here and absolutely love the quality and overall look of them. Their selection of shoes suck though... and they look kinda meh on quality. So I recommend just their clothing... pass on the shoes. Prompt & friendly personable email communications from these guys too.
