I had a reservation for Perdido Beach, Alabama for September 16th thru September 20th. Hurricane Sally hit on September 16th in Orange Beach, Alabama and prevented me from going. The hotel warned me away and I canceled on September 15th. Per their policy, I was given a partial refund but they kept $225.95. It doesn't matter that the hotel warned me away and had to close for repairs. All that matters is that Hotelplanner got to keep $225.95 of my money for doing absolutely nothing. Stay far away from this dumpster fire of a company.
Greetings,
Thank you for reaching out to us in regards to your inquiry. In our system we were able to locate your booking and we do show the reservation was cancelled and at the time of cancellation per the terms agreed to at the time of booking you were issued a partial refund as it was cancelled after the deadline for the full refund amount.
However, per your BBB Complaint an agent was working on your reservation and they were able to follow up with the hotel and get written confirmation to refund the penalty that was charged as the hotel did confirm they were not in operation due to the affects of the Hurricane and as such the penalty that was charged will be refunded to you and you can expect it in your account in the next 7 to 14 business days.
We thank you for your patience as this matter was being investigated into per your BBB Complaint in order to have a satisfactory resolution for your inquiry.
Regards,
