I met with Stacey in person and he told me how great his company was and how many additional services they provided at Valnes Bell Realty for those who wanted to sell their home and then buy something with less maintenance.
I really thought, Stacey was the one to take on the job and help me go through the sale, but then I decided to check him out on the internet and discovered something quite disturbing about him.
On the website called The Ripoff Report, one of Stacey's customers says that he basically ripped off his mother to the tune of $100,000, and then on another website hosted by none other than the City of Santa Monica, it talks about how Stacey and his wife Megan who works with him, coerced an elderly woman like myself through intimidation and harassment and fraud, into vacating her long-term home after the Valnesses had bought the apartment house in which she lived.
I am a bit divided here because I am no longer sure what Stacey is really up to with the elderly people. Stacey seems like a very knowledgeable and warm and caring person, but the City of Santa Monica had issued a warning against him to the public to take heed. It says on there, he defrauded the elderly woman and had to pay her $200,000 in damages, that he threw her out of her home where she lived and was paying $529/month and Stacey threw her out and re-rented the place she lived in for $2,400/month.
These sort of details as appear on there really made my blood boil, and another review that I read about him was on pissed consumer website where he sold a home to his friend for much less than what it was worth and the poor elderly woman lost money on the sale.
You just have to wonder whether all those great reviews that are written about Stacey Valnes and Valnes Bell Realtors are a real mccoy.
I am going to decline his services and listen to the City of Santa Monica and their warning. I am almost 87 years old and do not want and cannot afford to end up in a disaster.
