About Me

I’m just an ordinary person who believes in being honest and if I say I can be trusted then I can be. I also expect the same thing from the people I do business with. I’ve worked hard for my money and I am not wealthy so I expect good quality merchandise and if I am not satisfied I expect the business to stand behind their product and make it good. I do not like playing games so don’t mess with me!

How I Can Help

I don’t know that I have any real expertise just years of experience in a lot of different things. Being a single woman for many years I’ve learned how to take care of myself and listen to my gut feelings.

Interests

Gardening, sewing, crafts, cooking, old house renovation, animal rights, politics

I just want to know what the bottom line is without a bunch of emails and phone calls from sales reps. Give me the facts and I will decide if and who I want to talk to.

Reason I chose this business:

I was hoping for someone that could provide what I want but it didn’t work out.

I got an email from Eden Brothers and pulled up their website. It is a very lovely website and they seemed to have some of the less common flowers. I added and subtracted from my cart until I got it down to around $200. I put in my billing information and then thought - wait a minute. I hadn't checked out this company on Sitejabber. After reading dismal reviews I went back to the site and exited out. Unfortunately, I did not erase my billing information before doing so. I never tapped on the place order tab so I figured I was good. A couple of months later I got a box full of plants, bulbs and seeds! It wasn't even time to plant them plus we had a really late spring this year. We were still getting freeze warnings when they arrived. I pulled up their website again to find out how to return their shipment. When I found the section on returns my jaw dropped. They have no warranty and do not accept returns! What kind of reputable company does this. First they send an order I didn't even ask for and now they won't take it back. I've planted the bulbs. So far the liatris is just beginning to pop up. No lilies so far. I planted the Phlox seeds and again nothing so far. There was a package of caper seeds I'm sure wasn't on my order because I don't like capers and they only grow in zones 9-11. I'm in zone 5 but of course I was charged for them. The plants all died while waiting to be planted except two and one one of those has since died. The other one is barely hanging on so we'll see if it makes a comeback in the spring. I won't hold my breath. Eden Brothers should not even be in business. They lack all forms of honesty and integrity. They provide no customer service whatsoever but, I guess there's no need since they don't stand behind what they sell. I say run don't walk from this company. They took major advantage of me once but they will never get that opportunity again.

Tip for consumers:
ALWAYS check Sitejabber before you start creating a cart and then read the return/warranty section thoroughly before you fill out your billing information.

I did plant the bulbs. I’m still waiting to see if they come up.

I am a cat lover/rescuer from way back. There isn't much I won't do for them. I adopted a brother and sister several years ago and things were fine for awhile but then they both started licking obsessively until they had licked all the hair off their legs and bellies. Of course I took them to the vet where they received steroid shots to relieve the itching. They were allergic to something. It could be any number of things the Vet said and we would have to try eliminating things to figure out what it was. I wasn't keeping my cats on shots forever so I started doing some research on my own. I read that the main allergy for cats was chicken! I went to the grocery store and there were no cat foods that were chicken free. Petco was my next stop. I finally found one brand Whole Earth Farms Turkey and Duck Grain Free Dry Catfood. I bought it and hoped that all 6 of them would like it because they all free feed from one large bowl. I was very relieved they liked it, now if it relieves the allergy problem? It did. I got lucky on the first try. The next problem was that Petco only got a small shipment in at a time so often times I couldn't get it. I checked with Chewy and set it up for automatic delivery to my home. Everything was great for years. I recently received a message from Chewy that they were no longer able to get it. I went on line and found one place that still had it. AZ Pet Foods. I ordered two 10lb. Bags. It was going to cost about $10 more than Chewy charged but I needed it. I placed my Order on the weekend and I received an email stating my order had been received. I sent them an email asking for expedited delivery and explained why and that I was out of Catfood. By Thursday I hadn't received a reply or the food. I tried to find a phone number to call but there wasn't one - email only. I sent 3 emails with no response. In the meantime I went back to Amazon and searched for food. I found 3 brands and ordered one of those. I went back to AZ and was frustrated and told them if they couldn't at least respond to my emails they didn't need to send the food either. On Friday I received a message from them that the order was cancelled and my money refunded. No other message, no apology, nothing. What kind of customer service is that? Actually it was no customer service at all! I did look up the manufacturer of the food. A company called Merrick. I tried to order it direct from them. Again the only communication options were email or live chat. I chose the chat and was informed that they were no longer making that food and then they discontinued the chat when I asked if they knew of any other food I might try. Who would have thought it would be so hard to find Catfood without chicken?

Heirloom Roses has the most amazing selection of roses, like none I've ever seen on any other website, it's difficult to decide what to buy. The rose bushes I've received were in excellent condition and larger compared to what you usually receive from online websites. The customer service I've received has always been superior. They respond quickly and address all my questions and concerns with professional guidance which is so appreciated by a novice like me. This past winter I lost 7 of my roses. I submitted my claims. I also tried to place an order online but wasn't able to complete it. I called customer service expecting to have to fight for my warranty. I was so pleasantly surprised by the customer service representative I spoke with. She apologized for my difficulty placing an order and explained they were experiencing a glitch in the system and were working on it. She took my phone number and said she would research my damage claims and call me back. True to her word she called and gave me full credit with free shipping for all 7 roses. She also helped me place my order. She reviewed everything that we had discussed and then helped place a second order using some of my store credit. She was so patient and genuinely concerned that all my questions and concerns were resolved. She even sincerely asked me to send a picture of my garden. This was, without a doubt, the best customer service I have ever received from anyone. Heirloom Roses has gained a lifelong loyal customer because of their beautiful roses and excellent customer service.

I ordered a cane for my mother from Fashionable Canes many years ago. She is gone now but I kept her cane and have used it myself after a surgery. It still looks great except the name plate has tarnished. I have an elderly friend who has started using a cane on a regular basis. She was using one her son had and no longer used but it was not adjustable and it was heavy. I decided to purchase a beautiful folding cane that can be adjusted to the correct height for her. I also purchased an ice-o-grip that can be attached so it won't slip on snow and ice. I looked on-line and found Fashionable Canes. Ordering was very easy and it arrived just a couple of days after I ordered it. I was very happy with my purchase and so is my friend. She now has a very pretty cane suitable for the lovely lady she is and it can be folded up for convenience when she's at a restaurant, etc. They have a huge selection to choose from for both men and women so your only problem will be deciding which one you like best!

Tip for consumers:
Foremost to me is the quality and then the price.

I spent all winter planning what I wanted to plant in the spring. My yard was a clean slate with 0 plantings except for one tree in the front yard. I wanted specific varieties of plants that I couldn't find locally so I went on line and thought I was ordering from a reputable nursery - Nature Hills. I spent hundreds of dollars on plants, shrubs and a tree. A few came with no problem then the problems began. I ordered 7 Hydrangea. They emailed the tracking number with a delivery date. I waited all day but when nothing arrived by 8PM I checked the tracking again and it said they were delivered at 4:30. I called FedEx to report that I did not receive them. They said they did deliver them and would send me proof but they would investigate. Their proof was a sheet of paper that said we delivered package at 4:30. No pictures or anything that was proof other than they said so. I sent an email to Nature Hills explaining what happened and actually expected them to be concerned. No reply. In all I sent 3 emails to NH and never received a reply. I called FedEx a couple days later and they said they would only talk to the sender. About a week later the package showed up on my doorstep. Did FedEx find it and re-deliver it? Did NH re-send it? Who knows. The plants that arrived were a huge disappointment. They were in quart containers and one was in very poor shape but I planted it anyway. It is now dead. The plants cost almost as much as the full size Proven Winner Hydrangea that I saw locally. Next was the Rose of Sharon. I ordered two - Blue Chiffon and Pink Chiffon. I didn't realize until I received the shipping notice that they were sending lavender instead of pink. I emailed them immediately of the mistake but they said it was too late to change it. There was no offer to make it right and no apologies! Then there's the Magnolia Tree - all 18" of it for $75. There were brown spots on the leaves when it arrived and some had already fallen off. I sent pictures and I was told it should be OK it just needed the sun and it should be planted. It had been on my deck for a few days but it just didn't look good. Since the temperature had been in the mid to high 90's I moved it inside by a window. I planted it that day but when I was fastened the straps to keep it straight the trunk broke in half. I contacted them again and sent pictures. They hassled me with requests for more pictures three times saying they couldn't see any damage! I had noticed a scrape and a brown spot when it arrived but I thought it was just a bruise from being scraped. Turns out it was dry and rotted all the way through which was plain to see in the photos. I assume they knew how to enlarge the photos so you can see details. Their reply was that the tree "appears to be viable" and if it wasn't next spring they would give me a 50% credit toward another tree. The same trunk broke again and it is now in the recycle bin. Their customer service is nonexistent. I spent a very long time searching their website trying to find out how to file a claim. It said you must contact customer service by phone but it didn't give a phone number. I finally found a number but when I called it I got voicemail saying they were too busy to answer the phone and I should send an email. You would think as much as they charge for tiny little plants that they could afford to hire someone to answer their phone during their busy season. Deplorable customer service is bad enough but their failure to stand behind their product and complete lack of integrity is inexcusable. I will NEVER order from Nature Hills again.

Tip for consumers:
Do not expect them to stand behind their product or give any kind of customer service. Not worth taking a chance for inferior product.

I have planted everything. The Magnolia Tree was reduced to two twigs sticking out of the ground and it was pulled out. One of the hydrangea that was sick on arrival is dead and I planted the Rose of Sharon anyway even though it’s not the color I wanted.

  • OfferUp

10/29/20

I bought a faucet from Pop's Shop through OfferUp. When it arrived it was nothing like what I was expecting. It was huge and not even close to fitting my bathroom sink. I tried to contact Pop's by email with no success and was unable to find a phone number. I tried to contact OfferUp for assistance. All I wanted from them was a phone number. I didn't have a phone number for them either so we exchanged emails for days. They insisted I had not acted in a timely manner and it was too late for them to do anything. This WAS NOT TRUE. I even provided my emails to them showing the dates and they were sent during the very short time allowed for refunds, but they kept saying I was too late. They refused to help resolve the problem and now I am stuck with a faucet I will never be able to use. This company obviously is shady at best and apparently so are the companies they choose to do business with. Run - don't walk - as fast as you can from these con artists.

Tip for consumers:
Both businesses appear to be less than honest or willing to stand behind their product. OfferUp in particular should be investigated by their State’s Attorney Generals Office and put out of business.
