With all the buzz around online dating, particularly for the over 50s, I decided to see what it was all about. I read an article in a popular British newspaper on the rise of the 'silver surfer' and how my generation is the fastest growing market for tablets and ipads. I must admit I like the idea, as its not like at my age im going to be going out as often as I did when I was younger (im a young 56!) and even if I did, how many of the women out there would be suitable for me? Online dating makes sense, at least to try. So I signed up to two sites (the article suggested that this was a good way to double your chances), this one and also a nice little site called primetimelove.com that I would recommend as a fun alternative with plenty of members. Anyway, joining was very easy and I was able to add a few pictures of myself that I had from a recent BBQ so that worked out nicely. I wrote some information about myself; hobbies, likes, dislikes. Didnt harp on too much as the article had said to keep things light and funny if possible. I've searched the female members and must say I like what ive seen at this point. Had a chat with a lady from Easy Sussex over the weekend and we seemed to get on well which is a good sign and a great start. So its a case of so far so good as far as im concerned and I can see me using these sites for sometime and who knows, maybe romance will bloom for this old timer! Either way its something different and takes a bit of focus away from work. Would recommend to anyone who isnt sure its really not as terrifying as it can seem!
