  • GoDaddy

I have used this company extensively over the past few years but yesterday I received a very aggressive letter from their collection agency which is called Certegy Payment Solutions. I called GoDaddy and they confirmed that I do not owe them anything but when I called Certegy the Lady I spoke to was very aggressive and told me that I owe Certegy $168.03 which they, paid to GoDaddy for renewals on my account?! Obviously GoDaddy gave my confidential private information to this collection agency without my authorization so how secure is your data with GoDaddy? The when I call them the only solution offered by GoDaddy was to send an email to their legal dept and to their HQ? So, they can release your information to a third party providing the third party with false information about their customer, me and now Certegy are threatening to wreck my credit over a debt that according to me and, to GoDaddy I do not owe. So buyer beware, GoDaddy is dealing with some very shady entities that out of nowhere can get your private information and then threaten GoDaddy customers with debts that even GoDaddy admits, are not owed? Seems insane!

Verified purchase

The day of delivery I received a call from the delivery person regarding my washing machine to tell me that the machine had a large dent in the back so did I want the machine with dent or a new one? I told the person that what I wanted was what I bought, a new washing machine? I asked them when they would have a new undented one? They told me that they did not know that I would have to talk to the "office". The "office" told me that if I accepted the dented machine I would get a rebate of $100. I took the dented machine and surprise surprise, no rebate! I have tried to contact with them with no success so the conclusion is that this company is a ripoff. There are plenty of other places with better prices to buy so my advice is "buyer beware" this is not a good company!

In my experience this is one bad company. They say that I filled out a profile on their website which I do not even remember and when i told them that no matter, to take me off their list the person I was talking to said that he was their corporate counsel and that they do not have to take me off anything? I referred to FTC regulations about do not call and then he began to rant about the fact that because I filled out their "profile", I have no rights? I guess that it is not a free country anymore but for sure these guys are bad news!

Paypal assists people who receive funds that they are not entitled to. I sent $400 many months ago to a person who *******@yahoo.com when i meant to send it to a person with the same initial and *******@hotmail.com. I immediately notified Paypal and, sent an email to the *******@yahooasking them to return the funds. Basically the person kept as in stole my funds and Paypal washed their hands completely! Obviously they have all of this person's information but it appears that they are more interested in assisting the person that i sent the money to in error to steal my funds as they categorically refused to help me. Told me to get a lawyer and sue! Really? A ruthless company only interested in making money! I am 75 years old and unemployed so can hardly afford to be cheated out of $400.

Complete misrepresentation between the website and there actual pricing which is ten times higher than what they show on the website.
My agent Steven, hung up on me when i questioned this and was never willing to even listen to my issues. I tried twice to make a payment to them and twice different cards showed as declined even though when I called the CC company they confirmed that my card was fine and they had received no enquiries. Buyer beware this, is not an honest or customer friendly company.

  • Expedia

12/17/17

I am a Gold status Expedia user and today I booked a trip that included a 7 night stay at a hotel in Berlin. The Expedia agent lied to me about the hotel's cancellation policy, about the location of the hotel (said it was 10 minutes from the conference that I am going to when it is actually one hour away) and about the Expedia consumer rating (he said it was "Wonderful" when it is 3 notches below that. I called back to Expedia less than one hour later and waited on the phone through an agent, a supervisor and finally some other higher "escalation" to be told, "there is nothing that we can do for you". The hotel reservation is for March 2018! Every person I spoke with said, "don't worry I am going to help you". Beware of this company, their Gold status is garbage and they only care about getting your money. Once they have it they could care less about the customer.

  • Verizon

This company is big enough that it can get away with abusing its customers and the Government turns a blind eye. Utilities are supposed to be regulated but it seems that the regulators have better things to do! I went to Verizon in June to change my service and they told me that they had a special offer. An iPad for just $20 a month. They told me that the cost of the iPad would be covered by the special which was a Visa card for $400 that I would get in the mail. They failed to tell me that I had to sign a two year contract for this and they lied about the $400 Visa card. They billed me $672 and when I protested the answer was, "too bad, pay or else we will ruin your credit". I thought that such behavior was illegal but I guess that it depends on how much revenue you get. If your revenue is high enough you can get away with abusing people especially older people who are fair game for Verizon. I paid and now am trying to hire a lawyer but they are all afraid of them!

This company has horrible customer care. I just spent over 20 minutes on the phone with them trying to figure out how they obtained personal information on me that I did not give to them and listening to them tell me that they refused to remove my information from their records and refuse to confirm via email to me that the membership that they claim that i have with them was cancelled. They have emailed me incessantly since I placed an order with them in December and today called me twice to my work phone. I spoke to a supervisor who was worse than the agent!

  • HomeAway

12/26/16

This company is really something! They tell you that you have to request a reservation and that the owner has 24 hours to reply. They take your credit card and tell you that you will not be charged. They then immediately get an authorization from your credit card company, before they even know if the home is available. This authorization reduces your credit on your card by the full amount of the booking plus fees, taxes, cleaning fees and, security deposit. Then the owner rejects the reservation because the home has already been booked for the dates that you requested on another site. Home Away then tells you, "oh yes you will get your credit back in 7 to 10 days (depending on your banks policies)". When they let you know that the owner has rejected your request they tell you a lie, "your credit card has not been charged". However they are just playing with words because in fact their authorization already reduced your credit availability by the full amount of the charge for a home that Home Away actually did not have available to rent to you! Now if as I did you make multiple reservation requests for different homes all of which, are unavailable because they have already been booked on other sites, you end up with your credit cards being maxed out. When I called Home Away two days in a row they promised to have a supervisor call me back but it never happened and when I protested about their abuse of my credit for homes that they did not in fact, have available, the answer was, "that is our company policy". This is pure ruthless abuse of power and abuse of a customers confidential information. They think because they are so big and now owned by Expedia which by the way condones their behavior. We shall see.

I was on this company's website but left as soon as I realized that they would be charging me (I had already put my info. In). Now they have charged me over $50 for nothing. I called them and the message says "your wait time is 3 minutes" after 10 minutes they tell you they are too busy, leave a message. Of course no one calls back. They say you can cancel online but no way to do that unless you login which I cannot do as I never had an account. It is a clever scam and I am referring it to the Attorney General here in Colorado to see what they think about this company ripping off Colorado residents. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!

  • Xtendlife

These people are crooked. I placed an order at the same time that I called them and emailed them that I needed to have the order shipped by courier. When they finally called me several hours later they told me that they do not offer courier service to the USA (even though the website says that they do offer courier service on request). So I told them to cancel the order. The customer service person said ok they would cancel but they need my credit card info? This made me very suspicious as I paid them with a credit card. The CS person was very rude to me. I got home to find that immediately after the phone call they went ahead and processed the order and shipped it to me! Do not deal with this company as all the research on their products was done or sponsored by them!
