Bought a reconditioned Iphone 8 Plus from TekReplay through Back Market, another big scammer. The phone was advertised as in perfect working condition. As soon as it arrived I took it to Metro by T-Mobile to transfer my phone number from my old phone. It cost me $35 to activate the Iphone. After activation, it wouldn't work properly. Nine out of ten calls couldn't connect, and when it did, I couldn't hear the other caller. It cost me another $35 to transfer my phone number back. So I paid $70 in activation fees and ended up with my old phone. TekReplay refuses to repay me the $70. Back Market says they won't help me either. I am filing claims against both companies with the BBB and the Department of Consumer Affairs. TekReplay sells defective electronics and Back Market offers no protection to its customers. Stick to Amazon. At least you can trust them to sell you something that works, and if you have any problems, Amazon goes to bat for you.
Hello Angelo,
I appreciate you reaching out and sharing your experience here. I completely understand your frustration and would be too if I were in your shoes. Overall, I am very sorry about the extra fees you had to pay Metro/T-Mobile for switching devices and for this whole ordeal with the iPhone 7 Plus:(
Frankly, this is the first time I've heard of a $35 fee from Metro/T-Mobile for switching devices. I highly recommend reaching out to them at 1 (888) 863-8768 and seeing exactly why you were charged. T-Mobile's Customer Service team is known for being very helpful.
We are unable to refund you for the cost charged by Metro, but if you can show me proof of the charge, I would be more than happy to provide a personalized promo code for your next order. The promo code will save you some cash.
Let me know what you think, Angelo. I'm here to help!
Hope to hear from you soon.
Regards,
Dominick from Back Market
