Bought a D5500 DSLR camera from Nikon less than 2.5 years ago from in Canada. The camera died. I had to spend for shipping to Nikon service centre... terrible customer service. Then they asked a whopping $292 just to replace a power card! Couldn't believe it. Didn't fix it, not buying another Nikon anymore. If this happens *******@NikoCanada it can happen to Nikon stores elsewhere in the world, the product is probaly manufactured at the same location in FarEast.

My 3 yr old Nikon DSLR D5500 suddenly went dead. Contacted Nikon; guess what, not only I have to pay for the repair, I have to pay shipping and handling to Nikon. What a great product and customer support. My old Sony, Canon, Panasonic and even very old Mintolta - they are all alive and kicking. Not the Nikon! Just flagging this so that you know what you are spending for.

They took Rs. 10,000 (US$143.91 including Paypal fees) from me and never provided the service they promised. When I complained, they threatened legal action... what a relationship builder! Never again!
