  • Into The Bedroom

10/21/20

I made a purchase from Into the Bedroom, also known as The Sleep Shirt, which I returned, for store credit. I used that credit once, and then returned that item again, expecting to receive my store credit back. However, I was told that I could not use my store credit "more than once." This is the equivalent of stealing the consumer's money, as this was not stated anywhere in their policies.

They then proceeded to tell me that because my purchase amount in total was over a certain amount, that the would not refund the amount in excess of that amount... because, they feel like doing that.

After spending considerable amount of days- almost a month conversing with them via email about all of these extremely upsetting and unusual 'policies' I returned the items; however, because I returned it a few days past the date in another one of their policies, they will not refund ANY of my money.

Prior to this incident, I purchased three flannel nightshirts which I love, except that they shrink significantly in the wash. They charge designer prices but do not prewash their fabrics... extremely impractical that a mother of any family would be able to ensure that their sleepwear never ends up in the dryer. I'm sure not preshrinking their fabrics increases their profit margins, at the expense of the customer. When I asked them about this, instead of taking responsibility or stating that they are working to address the issue, they dismissively stated that other 'designers' don't pre-shrink their fabric either. Why would anyone want to pay for an item that will not remain as it was designed if their husband or child accidentally adds it to the dryer? It is cotton fabric and something one wear each night to bed... not a wedding dress. Their designs are some of the best I've seen, but they need to bring their other aspects of business up to that same standard.

Our returns policy is clear, thorough and is listed on and navigable from every page of our website. We encourage customers to review it before making a purchase. Post purchase and upon contact, we re-iterate and clarify the policies encourage customers to follow the guidelines and timelines. Throughout the process, you disregarded the policies and made demands beyond our published guidelines and practices. You made several requests for refunds that were outside of what is clearly stated as our policy, as you were informed, and as such, were refused. After exhausting your attempts to get a refund through PayPal (they refused this, rightfully), you have been writing us emails threatening to take us to court and using this review as a way to try and force us to give you a refund. After looking at the other review you have written, this is not the first time you have used Site Jabber to write negative reviews about companies in order to try and extract refunds. Per our policies, you will not receive a refund from us and as per our last email communication, this case is closed.

After purchasing 100% cotton sweatshirts, i washed them. Dye from the sweatshirts was apparent in the water, and also an incredible amount of nap came off in the lint trap. I thought this would happen just the first time, or the first few times, but it has continued every time i wash them, hence this review comes some time after ordering. I can't wash them with other clothing, for fear the dye will affect the other clothing. I've asked to return these items but the company would not return or refund. They do not stand behind their products. Do not buy anything from a deceptive company.

UPDATE: It is May 21 of 2020. Due to the issues described above, I got rid of all of the items I ordered except one sweatshirt. Almost two years have passed, and the sweatshirt continues to release its DYE. See pictures.

The company responded as you can see below, trying to confuse you. I bought 4 sweatshirts and they ALL released their dye. The company is trying to mislead you by saying that my order contained items from various manufacturers. All of the sweatshirts I bought from Cotton Mill were made by the same manufacturer, were all different colors, and were in fact the SAME STYLE. Do not buy from a company or anyone who intentionally tries to deceive. I asked for a refund when it became clear that the dye issue was going to persist. They refused to give me my money back.

UPDATE October 21,2020
I noticed that the seller posted a mean-spirited update to their comments to my review, in which they accuse me of using food coloring in the photos. See their response for what it is and... do not buy from this company.

To clarify, this purchase was made 156 days ago. You purchased 11 garments and claimed ALL had the dye run. That's statistically improbable! We have a single dye run complaint maybe once a month and usually its due to a customer who unintentionally used bleach on their 100% cotton clothing. SO, when you complain in January aout a purchase you made in August... with this outlandish claim that 11 items from 4 manufacturers ALL had bad dyes, of course, we will not return the items. How you wash the garments is not our fault. Try this at any other retailer and they would scan your receipt and simply hand it back to you. We have a reasonable 30 day return policy and we stand by it. I see from your last feedback you left another company that you "posted several negative reviews online. After that, they gave me a refund!". This is a new form of online fraud.

Please stop trying to bribe us with "pay me and I'll remove my review" emails. We won't pay you to remove your food coloring photos.
