I rank City Colors as the makeup you find in stores like Family Dollar. I hv purchased several City Color makeup items from Dollar Tree. Cheap does not equal bad but I'm not about to lie to you. This is BSS quality makeup kind of like Kiss, Ruby & Kisses. The price is budget friendly and I do hv mixed feelings I ordered a Metallic Cream eyeshadow set from ipsy for 10.00 They were in little clear cubes but when I opened them theyet were very dry globs of product. It had the appearance of smooth cream eyeshadow but once you popped the clear cover off that's when you saw just how little product you receive and the true appearance.
The makeup is inexpensive yet it is on the same level as Jordana makeup even Wet n Wild is better. I think you just hv to not expect too much from this brand. It's hit or miss. I am very skeptical about makeup found in my local dollar tree and once it has found its way into ipsy subscription boxes it is thought to be high end. If you remember NYX is a BSS brand that I use to buy for about 1.99 don't believe me I can send you pics of my eye shadow palettes, chubby eyeshadow sticks, and lipgloss/lipsticks. Give it a try but don't believe anyone that says it's anything other than what it is. It's not a Bobbi Brown, MAC rival.

Sephora is the makeup lovers dream. However when they decided to launch their subscription boxes called Play they failed. It was first tested in a few select cities. It invited everyone else interested in subscribing to sign up. Many received the message that no open spots were available but we would be put on a waiting list. Well many received emails saying that a spot was open we could now sign up. I added a notification thru my email provider that sent my phone and alert as soon as any Sephora emails arrived. The email arrived at 12:53 I followed the link and reached the sign up page and entered my email as instructed I hit the enter key at 12:54. Immediately received the same message I had months ago when I tried to sign up. All the spots were full however I would be notified when one was available. Now if I go back to the email there is a count down timer with the days/hours/minutes/seconds that the invite is valid. Sephora sent no other emails telling us that the spots were full. From day 1 this whole campaign and their intro into the world of subscription boxes failed miserably.
Im shocked that upper management does not feel the need to do any type of damage control. Instead they are using this to create exclusivity. There thinking is that this how to create and keep the Play box at the top of the most wanted must have list. In fact it's the complete opposite customers don't like gimmicks. Either run the subscription box the fair way or get out of the game. They should ask Birchbox or even ipsy how to properly operate a subscription boxes service.

I decided to finally subscribe to some subscription boxes services. I think it is a great way to treat yourself to a gift every month. Gives you the chance to try so many different beauty products/brands. Glossybox is known for their pretty pink box. For 21.00 a month you receive 5 " luxury" beauty products. I hv subscribed to several so I wind up receiving the same products sometimes. Like most of the boxes you receive a mixture of makeup, beauty tools, nail polish, and skincare items. I don't dislike Glossybox however it does not beat Birchbox. Here is why You get points when you review Glossybox called Glossy dots for every 1000 Glossy dots accumulated you will be able to redeem it for a complimentary future Glossybox. You can't use the dots on gift boxes, or limited edition boxes. If you complete the monthly feedback surveys you will receive 20 Glossydots. That's all you can redeem. Birchbox point system is hands down the best. When you review samples your points are basically currency that can be used to purchase products from their online shop. 100 Birchbox points equals 10.00 For each monthly sample review you receive 10 points per sample. You basically get your money back the box is 10.00 a month.
I know this is a Glossybox review but I try to give you the best info so you can make the best decision. Everyone may not be able to afford 21.00 if you can there is nothing wrong with Glossybox. But for those on a budget you can subscribe to Birchbox for 10.00 and not feel like your missing out. You can even do ipsy (which is not my favorite) & Birchbox both 10.00 getting 2 subscription boxes for the price of 1 Glossybox. I like Glossybox over POPSUGAR must have boxes which I feel are overpriced, and overhyped. I hv never been disappointed with Glossybox it is definitely one you should try. If you check many of the subscription boxes blogs you are able to see a spoiler sometimes the whole box before deciding if you want to subscribe. There are so many so it can be overwhelming. I know my reviews tend to be long but I try to offer as much help as I can. Subscription boxes are very personal not everyone likes the same thing but take your time, research the blogs, and give them a try. If you hv any questions please ask me I will do my best to answer them.

I have purchased several items from their CZ line Bella Luce. The items are pretty, the ability to mk monthly payments appeal to many. Here is why Im telling you to run 1st the shipping is slow I hv only received my purchases quickly when I paid extra for express shipping. Usually you order and use standard shipping it will arrive in 5 days and thats long mostly I hv paid standard shipping from other companies and items will arrive 3-4 days. JTV items hv taken 7 days sometimes 2 wks. Sending items back is easy you can use the prepaid return label and the shipping is deducted from the return amount. My items hv arrived in a regular box and usually a velvet pouch. Every single item I hv ordered has been sterling silver rhodium plating on some. They all hv turned blk and cleaning makes it worse. The stones are pretty for a week at best then cloudy and no amount of cleaning helps. The settings on my necklaces and bracelets hv all broken or stones hv easily fallen out. I hv used no harsh cleaners I hv even taken some to my jewelry store to be cleaned and the jeweler is shocked at the end results. Its not my skin causing this. I hv purchased sterling silver cz pieces from other retailers in fact I wear a cz tennis bracelet everyday and hv no problem cleaning it I only paid 15 bucks for it yet its still pretty and I wear it everyday. I hv purchased over 10 items hoping that maybe I did something wrong. Every single time I hv been disappointed. They offer a protection plan but lets just say that its a joke. Just save yourself the trouble and money. You can look but don't buy. Especially if you plan on giving the item as a gift save yourself the embarrassment.

40 bucks a month is what you will pay to receive the must have boxes by PopSugar. They hv recently added a mini for 18.95. I so far hv only received 1 box and will be getting Aprils box. The method Im using to determine which subscription boxes I will subscribe to is the 3 strikes method. All of these subscription boxes are a gamble but for 40 bucks a month I think its overpriced. The worth of the boxes are based on the suggested retail price. Even with the mini your only getting 2 items I just think its overpriced, over hyped. The items should be better quality and I think you should get alot more items in a 40 dollar box. They hv special edition boxes that cost 100. Dont fall for the hype you can get 3 other beauty boxes for the price of this 1 box. And when you dont know what your getting its too high of a price. If you like certain items go to eBay and you will probably find it for sale. Its the best route to go if you hv a tight budget. The quality of the items the number of items you get just dont cut it for me. Dont get caught up in the hype be smart. Most of these bloggers, and vloggers are getting these boxes for free. Even if I received it free to review I would still feel the same some praise these companies just so they can continue getting free items from other companies that want good reviews. I know Im long winded and probably rambling so I apologize for that. Long story short its not worth the money.

2016 I decided to try the wonderful but hit or miss world of subscription boxes. Birchbox wins my rave because the Customer Service was GREAT! Answered my questions quickly and you can tell it was not just a generic answer. I could tell a live person read it and she was so giddy I was like well you love your job. My first box was OK not a WOW but not a dud. I did not get one sample again Ms. Giddy CS Rep sprung into action by the end of the week it arrived. Also the lotion I told them I didn't like Almond scent Ms. Giddy CS sent me the scent of my choice. Sorry to be so long but the Customer Service was well worth the subscription price. So thumbs up I can't say anything bad about Birchbox. And my review is not coerced I was not bribed, or paid. Lol I'm just honest and I will always tell you the good and bad. I will however quit writing books and rambling.

You take the so called beauty quiz. Enter all your info CC address etc. Then 4 steps to get off the waist list and claim some free full size gift. Really? You hv to go on twitter and facebook and promote them before you get any products. If you hv a waitlist tell the customer that first and let people decide if they want to continue. Screw them that is not something Im about to do.
