In 2011 the founder of Loki Cycles- a bicycle messenger with a background in civil engineering- became disillusioned with what was available on the fixed gear market. He thought his bike was heavier than it should be and yet not as durable as it needed to be in the places that received the most ware. Additionally, his original track geometry had not seen any improvements in ergonomics since it’s inception in the 1960's. Seeing the problems of the industry as an opportunity to improve upon the sport he loved, he began to gather other like-minded engineers and business men together to create a company that could take fixed gear riding to the next level.
