They send out emails advertising free gifts with purchase, but then AFTER they've mailed you what you purchase, they send an email saying your free gift was cancelled. Customer service is horrible - I spent 25 minutes on the phone, a lot of it on hold while the rep had to verify why the free gift was cancelled. Well, the answer is that they "ran out" and "didn't know it would be in such high demand" but also, "it's not a customer service problem, it was a marketing error"... first of all, customer service is the front line to your company's relationship with your customers, so if the marketing department or inventory department or technical department or whoever it was made a mistake, it's your job to appease the customer if you work in the customer service department! I explained to this rude little twit that I only made an order for the free gift, as that was the only thing that made the deal worth anything, and I explained to her how shady of a practice it is that I got a shipping confirmation a full day before a confirmation of the gift being cancelled. I should have had the opportunity to cancel my entire order! I was informed that my only option at this point is to return the items I bought and wait up to 30 days for a refund. Beauty.com is a joke of a company - an unethical farce and should be avoided! Not only are their practices suspect, but I buy A LOT of cosmetics, and I recognize a lot of stuff for sale on their site that is years old and not even marked as clearance, so I do not trust that they are selling quality inventory.
