I'm not sure what companies are paying for when they get this software. All it does is send people automated messages which include platitudes like "we have hope that your item will be found" and "we are looking for it". Basically it lets you feel ignored and insulted at the same time. We lost an item on an Air Canada flight and filed it missing with Chargerback immediately (the same day with seat and flight numbers etc). We learned later that the item was found and immediately put in lost and found by an AC staff member. So, it wasn't a complicated scenario and the item was not stolen by anyone. If there was a human on the other end at Chargerback we might have learned it was in the lost and found at our arrival airport and simply picked it up on our return - simple and cheaper for everyone. Instead we had one month of canned email messages saying Chargerback couldn't find anything until we directly complained and the item was located by real people AC Lost and Found. Worse than useless system from our experience.
