I just received another invoice from Nikon, this time for $404.38. They are claiming it was an impact issue. Nope. If that camera had an impact issue it happened once it got to them. I know how I took care of that camera, the two months it worked, and it didn't get knocked around. Don't buy a Nikon. Go with something more trustworthy, like a stone and chisel.
“Don't Buy a Nikon Camera”
I know that I have written a review on this company before, but things have gone from bad to worse. I'm attaching the bill that Nikon has sent me to repair my camera. The one-year warranty turned into a one hundred-eighty-day warranty. They mention no proof of purchase when that was never mentioned was required.
What is wrong with my camera? That isn't listed. So, a camera my hubby bought me in December that worked two months is going to cost me nearly $340.00 to get it back. They won't even fix the camera unless I sign an agreement to pay this amount even though they gave no indication what was wrong, what they have to do to fix it, only stating that they received the camera and moderate repairs. If I refuse their terms does this now mean they can keep the piece of crap, and I'm out a fairly large hunk of money?
Oh, just so you know, don't try to contact corporate because that's not happening. You make a call and they put you on a loop that instead of you getting an operator by pressing 0, the phone rings a few times and you are thrown back to the menu.
If you're interested, go take a look at the several camera companies and take a look at what is happening with Nikon stock compared to others. Yes, things are bad now, but Nikon losing ground a lot more than others and it isn't all because of Covid. Selling equipment that goes bad within a couple of months, then shotty tech support, equipment that comes back still broken, you getting charged to fix a product that shouldn't have broken down to begin with, and you change the rules on the warranty to suite your company's needs I'm sure has a lot to do with this.
If you think I am the only one with this problem, check the internet. You'll find this is not a small issue.
