Excellent customer service. I had an issue convering a file and sent an email to Customer Service. Less than 4 hours later, a Customer Support Specialist, Grace, responded. She asked me to send her the file, and her team converted it for me within a few hours. In the era of AI, it was a delightful experience working with a human and not having to navigate through a chat bot and trying to find a solution for the issue. Overall, a very easy and seamless experience. Thank you.

I was interested in Zamzar and was told it was free, safe and legal. The song I tried to move from wav to mp4 was too big. Therefore, there was a fee. I don't know if I missed this information on their site, but I was under the impression this would be a free service.
Hi Rae, we do offer a genuinely free service for files up to 50MB in size (and for two conversions per 24 hours). We try to make this file size limit clear at the point you upload your file, but sorry if you missed that. For files larger than 50MB, you would need a paid account. We hope that makes sense. Dont use if u value your time uploading multiple files, got so annoyed converting my homework at 5 am for 30 minutes when they told me I cant dowload half of it that was already converted bc of their 2 free dowload limit I had to write a review of their $#*!ty site to relief myself

We do offer 2 free file conversions per 24 hours, but if you'd like to convert more files than this then you would need to sign up for a paid account - unfortunately we have to place a limit somewhere so we can be a sustainable business. I paid for the "$9 subscription" and the very next day 80 bucks was taken from my account by Zamzar, I didn't click another plan because the highest price for a plan is 25 bucks, I am greatly angered and will be taking legal action if I don't get my money back

It sounds like you ticked the checkbox to save money by paying annually for your account, instead of monthly, and this is why you'd have been charged $81. If you didn't mean to pay annually, we'd be very happy to change your account to a monthly one instead and refund the difference in cost. It has been impossible to stop them from charging my card for months after we deactivated the account. This is a fraudulent company go somewhere else. Also, none of the Beta or experimental converters work whatsoever.

We do make it clear on our site (including on the account sign-up page) that it's the account-holder's responsibility to cancel their subscription when they no longer want it, and unfortunately we can't find any record of you cancelling your account with us; this is why you continued to be charged. I was asked for my personal email address in order to get my file converted. Okay, I gave it. Later, I received an email, that file (a simple xls file) is failed to be converted. Later, I started to receive lots of spam on my email address.

If you'd like us to see if we can manually convert the file for you, please could you send it to us at support@zamzar.com? Also, please be assured that your email address is only used to send you the link to your converted file (or a message to say the conversion has failed); we never use email addresses for marketing and never share/sell email addresses, so unfortunately it's a coincidence if you've been receiving more spam emails recently. They charged my account every month for 2 years and I never had a file converted correctly. I called many times to cancel and get refunded but they insist that they have never charged my account. Tired of dealing with them would not suggest giving them any credit card info.

I recommend using another option. The program is free but only for 50 converts. I found free versions that convert much faster and with better quality. To top it off it took 2 hours to convert 153 files and in the end it only let me convert 100 of them in two days. Many better options out there.

I wanted something to quickly view a. Msg file but this involved submitting an email address (what will they do with it?) in order to get a link to the output - which wasn't very good as it failed to include the embedded attachment.
I ended up using encryptomatic.com which was much less palaver and did the job much better.

Scam! Said it was a free service but set up a monthly fee! Refused to refund. Never never give them your gredit details!
Hi Kate, the service is completely free to use for any file up to 100MB in size. If you are trying to convert files bigger than that we have paid accounts which you can sign up for if you wish. I don't know the specifics about your refund request, but generally we are happy to offer a refund if your converted file is not as required.
