“Always A Fun Surprise!”

I've been subscribed to Yume Twins for 18 months and my desk is totally decked out with the cutest stuff now! My plushie collection has also doubled. My favorite items are the useful ones, like the lunch boxes, jewelry case, desk calendar... Every month is more fun thanks to Yume Twins! My only feedback is that I miss the illustrated anime covers the booklets had in 2022. Still love the booklets though, the graphic design is so great and it's fun reading about Japanese culture!

“Not really worth it.”

I've been subscribed for 4 or 5 years now and and I'm just more and more disappointed every month. I've skipped most of my boxes over the past 2 years. They claim 5-7 items, it's usually 5, September was the last box to even have 6, before that is was February, go back two year none of them have 7. Pricing has gone up, I feel like variety and quality has gone down. They started making custom items, I don't think anyone asked for that, so instead of a licensed character, you get some random thing they've come up with. The boxes seem really padded at this point, it feels like "here's three things that were thought out and here's 2 other random things to get to our 5 minimum." The March '23 box was the Mega Mystery Box, which was literally them just dumping overstock product. I bought it delusionally hoping I'd get something neat. How wrong I was. The Nezuko and Snorlax are literally overstock from their Demon Slayer box from March '21 and their "Game Land Adventure" box from November '22. The other three are literally item pulled from their crane game site, they still have the little prize stickers on them. I mean maybe I just got unlucky and someone out there got a really cool figure or gacha but I got crap. The sad thing is this was my first subscription box and customer service has been really good to me over the years. I feel bad canceling. I've been putting it off for a while, but it's kinda garbage. Like every few months I'll see a box and be like "Oh this might be fun" but I always end up going "Why? Why do you keep giving them money for this crap?"

After canceling on May 2nd, I was resubscribed without my permission and charged, and now they are refusing to refund me. I can provide proof I canceled, but they cannot provide proof I resubscribed.

DO NOT SUPPORT Yume Twin, Tokyo Treats, No Mke No Life, or Sakuka Co (all owned by the same company)

I ordered the Ghibli box for a friend. I didn't realise I was an automatic subscription renewal, I can't remember seeing that, but okay. I received an email stating it was renewed. Haven't received any reminder beforehand. I sent a message straightaway asking to cancel it (just a few hours after receiving this message) as I don't want another box at that time.
I was informed it was too late and there was nothing they could do about it. Okay it's maybe in their T&Cs but I find this very dodgy.
The box wasn't shipped or even prepared. I can't understand why they can't proceed a refund...
Now I'll get a box I don't want, that will be totally useless. I don't recommend and will never order again.

I was charged for three boxes. I tried to cancel before being charged for the third box, but they make it nearly impossible to figure out how to cancel. Plus, 35 dollars just for it to be shipped as Sea Mail and have to pay ten dollars extra if you want air mail is a bit much. If I had ever received my packages rather than seeing "Refused" under the shipping area where it once said it was shipped then I might have a better story to tell. I have requested for a dispute today on the first box I made a purchase on and will provide more information when they hopefully contact me back.

The idea of cute goodies from Japan is amazing! However, the company is so money hungry it is ridiculous. You have to pay for insurance so that if the box gets lost in transit you can get a refund or another box. Any other company would be happy to replace it no matter what. Not to mention their customer service is awful as well. They only give you copy-and-paste responses and just tell you to wait until they finally tell you Too bad you didn't buy insurance. Sucks for you'.

Don't gamble your hard earned money on this. It really is not worth it.

I paid for a 3 month subscription. I was then charged extra shipping without warning, which they claimed was due to the pandemic. There was no opportunity to refuse this. Their site has since been updated to say they'll charge extra, so at least you can see this. I received the 3rd box, but not the first two and all they say to do is wait. They have no tracking details to share, no updates and refuse a refund. This was something to cheer up my child while stuck at home so this has been a massive let down and a headache. Not to mention that I've had no issues with any other mail whatsoever.

You went from free shipping to charging $11USD for shipping in the middle of the subscription and are withholding the boxes and the money I paid for them until I pay you more money. That's terrible customer service and a con. You shouldn't be charging upfront if you don't plan on delivering the services you agreed to and you definitely can't change the terms after you've already taken the money.

I first signed up for Yuma twins in August. I really wanted the Totoro stuff. When I signed up they had a deal that the more months you signed up for the more Totoro stuff you would get. So I bit the bullet and did the 6-month option, even though I really couldn't afford it. That's what credit cards are for, right?

I thought everything was good to go. I received my first box, but didn't receive the extra things in it. I waited until my second box just in case that was packed incorrectly. Still nothing. So I contacted customer service and explain the situation. I was told that I had selected another option to receive an extra box instead of the Totoro items. If I did that, it was not clear at ALL on the website. But I doubt that I did it. She offered no help other than the information. And then told her that I wanted a refund on the remaining boxes that had not been shipped because I felt like I was being mistreated and I didn't want the boxes if I couldn't have what I actually signed up for. I was told I could not get a refund. And that was the end of the communication.

I really do not recommend these boxes, the customer service is horrible. Also the items are cute but they are NOT worth the amount that you pay for the boxes. I think after my subscription is done, I'm just going to start saving my money and go to Japan and buy everything I want. It would be a way better investment.

Tip for consumers:
Double check, not triple check everything before you purchase. They will not help or change things after your order is in.

Very limited amount and not exceptionally different from what you can buy here in Belgium. The value inside does not match what you pay for this box.

The service is horrendous. This is pure scam. I never got a single box nor was I refunded for my money. They just stated that it should arrive and that they sent the boxes. Then that they would communicate with Tokyo mail... They close the tickets. It has one star because I cannot just give 0. Don't waste your money on this company. O wish I was advised before I placed the yearly order and paid in full for the subscription. Just wanted to make my daughter happy.

Tip for consumers:
Its a scam, the boxes will not arrive. They will not return your money. They only make excuses.

I ordered my first yumetwins box in April. On April 14th my box was shipped. As of today, August 17, my box still has not arrived. I have reached out to YumeTwins customer service several times and each time the only responses I have gotten have essentially consisted of "keep waiting, your box should show up, if it gets sent back to us we will let you know". At least 2-3 interactions with them I have specifically asked how long do I have to wait for a refund or replacement and they have not ever answered that question. The level of customer service I have received about this issue is horrid. At this point I have contacted PayPal for a refund as it has now been over 4 months since the item was marked as shipped but has not arrived. PayPal thinks YumeTwins was trying to wait me out past the buyer protection so that I could not get my money back. I did order another box from this company between that box and now that went out through another shipping company. The initial box appeared to be stolen and they did sent out a replacement for that box after some frustration and making me do much of the work with communication with the shipping company and I did finally receive the replacement of that box. I strongly encourage buyer beware with this company. They have done nothing but give me the runaway and terrible customer service.

With everything currently going on in the world I need every penny I can save, back in April I bought a one month subscription for my wife's birthday since she liked the stuff in the May box (which has yet to be received due to current events). I tried my best to be sure I wasn't signing up for an auto-renewing subscription and thought I was safe. Mind they don't make this easy, it's a game of 'don't press the buttons and find the link' which is awful.

I somehow missed the email and charge for the June box. Probably because I didn't think I would be getting them, so I was extremely surprised when my wife brought up the fact that I had two more charges on my account for boxes. To put it frankly, I was pissed. I have tried to get a refund to which the company has responded with once a charge goes through it can't be refunded and that I did indeed sign up for a renewing subscription.

Some shady website design got me into this mess. For starters, I originally looked at the gift options for boxes. However at the time, buying a gift box never said I would be getting the May box, the only box my wife wanted. So, not wanting to risk messing up, I did start a monthly subscription and I guess misunderstood somethings due to the language the site used.

On top of that, I didn't verify my email until I realized the charges happened. Let that sink in. This company had no way of knowing that I would even receive their emails and I had no access to their site either. So from their perspective, the only way I was guaranteed to find out about the additional boxes was via a charge on my account. A charge that once put through, I have no way of refunding. You understand the problem here? They took my money with no way of knowing that I knew that those boxes were coming (and I didn't know). I am pretty sure that is theft.

I was charged for two 1 year subscriptions in July in the amount of $790.98
I disputed one of them as it was a duplicate charge and I received 2 boxes in August. The dispute resolved in your favor, somehow HOWEVER I have not received *any* boxes since. So, nothing in September or October.
And, mind you, nothing was refunded.

So, I emailed your support recently and they said because I had disputed 1 of the 2 year subscriptions, I will not be refunded AND I will not be receiving the goods/services I was charged $790.98 for.

I'd like to bring this situation to your attention!
Their support said it's a policy of theirs to not send boxes and not refund anything if anything is disputed regardless of how the dispute is resolved.
So, now they have $790.98 of my money and I've only received 2 boxes from back in August.

WTF

That's an insane amount of money to steal from someone.
