Great! But could be better.

About me: I have used mail forwarding in South Dakota for more than a year. I use YBA to process 95% of my letter-mail and magazines. Almost everything I get is just official mail, a few bills and annual notices (taxes and vehicle registration). I would be consider myself to be a very light, but regular mail forwarding user and so far, have never had packages forwarded, since I have friends and family and shipping places to pick up packages while on the road.

PROS: I have the digital scan service as well, so I like that I have access to seeing my mail right away so I know if I need to have it forwarded quickly or wait or get it scanned. Never had any mail lost or mangled, including my magazines being kept nice and neat. Packages are wrapped well and appropriate for the contents and I get notification that they are on their way. So far, nothing lost in the mail.

IMPROVEMENTS NEEDED: 1) YBA does NOT do a good job of answering their phones during business hours, and most of the time you'll be transferred to someone else that goes to voice mail and even when you leave a voice message that is fairly urgent, don't expect to get a call back in a timely manner, if at all -- but they are friendly when you finally do get them on the phone. 2) I can't make heads or tails out of my billing and billing statements aren't itemized. I feel like I'm always being overcharged, and when I call to ask about the cost, the quotes for charges don't match up with what I'm being charged. The verbal quotes for clarifying charges don't match up with what it says online, either. NOT having clear pricing for fees charged and documented on my monthly bill means I'm using this service as little as possible to control my costs. Because of lack of transparency in fees and costs, I am looking for another service that is more transparent and speedy. YBA used to write the fees charged on the front of each package, but stopped doing that for some reason (even less transparency). 3) I have never been in a hurry to get my mail, so not a huge issue for me, but YBA isn't exactly speedy when it comes to shipping out your mail once you tell them to send your mail. Once I had to CALL to gt them to send my mail that had been in cue with no action for a couple of business days. I'd expect my mail to be on its way within 24 hours or less on a business day 100% of the time after I order it sent. That only happens about half the time. This isn't my first mail forwarding service, and comparatively, the speed of processing isn't as good as others. I am not in a hurry, but YBA could definitely speed up their processing speed. I would not recommend this place for anyone who needs their mail processed quickly. 4) While this is not a place specifically for registering vehicles (although they do that, too) I was not able to get helpful service to get my vehicle licensed in South Dakota. I ended up registering my vehicle out of state (NOT what I wanted to do). YBA works with some insurance companies to facilitate registration, but they could not help me and the insurance company YBA works with is the one that told me to just license my vehicle out of state. That took 1/2 day to do. Trying to register my vehicle through YBA and affiliates a week later, still wasn't getting it done. If you need quick vehicle registration, this place may not work for you if you have other than an already registered RV. I kind of just stick around here because I don't have a lot of options that work for me right now, but now that I have more time, I'll be looking for other options.

Tip for consumers:

CALL directly and get rates quoted in writing. What is on the website may not match what you are actually charged. They may have other packages that fit your needs at a different price than is quoted online. Need to register a vehicle, too? Better clarify that process before signing up for a mail account if you are planning on doing both. Lack of timely service or ability to get your vehicle licensed may be an issue for you, too.
