“Owners beware!”

Owners beware! This company is all about profit and cares nothing about it's owners (and based on a lot of the reviews, renters.) They find any way possible to charge owners fees and do nothing to promote the listing. They say it's an algorithm that changes, but don't believe that. The "owner support" person is rude and not supportive. Run as fast as you can from this company. There are many better businesses out there well serving owners and renters.

They find any way possible to charge owners fees and do nothing to promote the listing. They say it's an algorithm that changes, but don't believe that.
The "owner support" person is rude and not supportive. Run as fast as you can from this company. There are many better businesses out there well serving owners and renters.

We rented from Yonder vacation rentals for our spring break vacation of 2022. Upon arriving to our cabin, which was called Bear and Bull lodge, we were greeted with three trash cans that were full and overloaded with the previous renters trash. Housekeeping came by again to pick it up, and told us that they were not given the proper amount of time to clean this cabin. My husband and I had to unload a full dishwasher of dishes from the previous renters, they also didn't clean the coffee pot. The icemaker and the water on the refrigerator do not work. Upon putting the dishes away we found two dirty mugs that were put up in the cabinet. The master bedroom bed box spring broke in half, and there was a pair of socks and woman's jewelry under the clawfoot tub, where someone obviously didn't clean too well. Only a handful of electrical sockets work, and if you want to turn up the thermostat you need an access code which they don't give you. Yonder also does some false advertising, they tell you that the main floor fireplace is gas assist, it is not, so you're gonna need some fire starters or some newspaper, but that's really no problem just go back down the mountain it takes about 45 minutes. My grandchildren were unable to play outside due to the dry rot by the hot tub, my granddaughter just about put her foot all the way through it. The patio furniture is sprawled about the whole entire house, so you got to go get it and bring it together, but only one chair has a cushion, but the arms of it are all chewed up, the other chair covered in bird droppings and no cushion. The fire pit outside was empty as far as propane, and playing in the yard was completely out of the question, there was a dirty sock in one of the front planters, a used disposable mask, water bottles, and a cookie sheet. Never in my life have I stayed in such an unsanitary place, where I would have to clean after housekeeping had been there. Of course yonder wanted to send housekeeping back out, but why would I do that if they couldn't get it right the first time. Worst vacation ever!

I 1st want to say The French Broad was super nice. I called before renting to make sure it was a quiet place bc you can't always tell my pictures. They recommend this cabin. When we arrived it was sitting directly on a busy noisy road! My husband walked off 10 yards from the front deck to the road. You couldn't sit out front and enjoy coffee, wine whatever bc it was so loud! You could her the traffics inside all way way to the bedroom and we couldn't even sleep at night. We had paid in full for a 9 night stay. We contacted Yonder and was told you could clearly see the road in picture # 8. I was disgusted she had the audacity to say that when you couldn't t tell on line it was an actual road. It looks like a place you drive into to park. The road in front of this cabin had yellow lines and white stripes when we arrived. Nothing like the pics. To make a very long story short they did nothing to help us and they didn't care that one of their staff recommended this "Quiet" rental.

We left after 2 nights!

Pls don't rent from them bc they don't care about the customer. Pls also don't rent The French Broad on Air B&B or VRBO bc you won't have e a relaxing cabin. I'm sorry for the owners of this place bc it is a lovely place with everything you need. It's the location!

We rented one of their properties, when we got there the property had NO air conditioning, it smelled like Mildew, we contacted them saying we couldn't stay in the property, we were willing to have them change our property to another and even offered extended timelines, they said they had no other properties, that they would refund us, but next day called us saying they wouldn't refund us. They charged us $3,400 even though we have not stayed at their property. The description of property did not state there was no air conditioning. After we spoke to a manager which stated they wouldn't refund us, they then added in several areas of their listing description no air conditioning on property. They claim to be a luxury rental but have homes without AC? Understand if you stay at their properties they don't provide accurate descriptions of homes and then will not help or refund you if you have issues. Buyer Beware, this company is a disgrace to vacation rentals.

Is there a way of not giving any starts whatsoever? Giving one star is too much for this company.
We have been lovers of vacation rentals for years and have always wanted to support these companies, as we are also proprietors of vacation homes overseas.
We have never felt so unbelievably "ripped off" financially as we did with Yonder Vacation Homes. For me to try to make sense of their behaviors, I can only think that this company must be desperate for money and will try to take any penny from their customers.
We rented one of their properties for three months to stay close and support a family member with Alzheimer's. We paid in full, upfront. Due to some complications, a family member had to be moved, and we communicated with them and told them with lots of notice that we wouldn't be able to stay at the house for the last month. They didn't care - no negotiation, no trying to rent the house for others, etc - OK - $5000 - they kept with an empty house. It was the contract that we were surprised by their lack of wanting to work something out with us, but it is what it is. However, they started to send high utility bills for the months that we weren't using the house and expecting us to pay - They charged our credit cards for these utilities that we didn't use.
On top of that, they wanted to charge us extra cleaning fees - even though the house was clean after we moved out. Sorry for the long post, but there is more - Because we were at this home for two months, we had an incident where someone shipped us something after we moved out. When I contacted the Younder office to see if I could come pick it up, they said there was a $45 charge for me to pick up my OWN item.
Seeing companies treat their clients and guests like this saddens me - I don't understand. I think a "good deal" is only when everyone feels good about the deal!
