There are many pages nowadays who invite you to write prisoners, this one is surely not the worst... You just have to be careful what you say and have in the back of the head that you might be scammed for money or even just entertainment.

This is my first time. Let's see if they response. But for now, I am giving them 5 stars. Thank you!

I have never had a problem with this Writeaprisoners site anybody I have ever write I always got a reply back. The profile are great and there is tons of info on each prisoner. Someone should give it a try and wait for a response u won't be sorry u tried and it's a great way to write someone u don't know and meet new people. Alot of guys depend on this site for friendships or maybe romance.

I went on this website looking to just communicate with someone who just needed a good listener as well as a positive friend. I was writing this inmate since August 2021 and thought things were going great for the first 2 months. I made the mistake believing that he wanted to change he was calling daily and I thought he needed a person to listen to him, so I offered to help him he never ask for anything, I sent him money and open a account so he can call, but after the last Money ordered I sent him he stop calling for about a month so I figure that was that he lied about everything and he did call, but I was already over his $#*!. He just wanted my time and more money, but I told him what I thought about him and yes he sent a photo that was about 10 years ago so who knows what he looks like now. But please be careful and aware of some of these inmates because they shoot a lot of lies and can be very manipulating it makes it bad for the ones that are sincere. Just do not send money and be very careful because some are scammers.

It´s an easy and well-explained website but unfortunately don´t have feedback from the emails or letters you send it´s bad but let´s wait to see if our pals received our messages...

I liked the idea of this site - it is very kind and makes you think about the good attitude towards the prisoners.

A great way to meet people to genuinely get to know. Also, a service like this helped me to meet some really cool friends when I was on the inside.

This website is the primary electronic link these people have to the outside. You can write an inmate an old fashioned letter and they will get it, but this is both quicker and about the same cost.

YES, these people all need money. Many are victims of an overly aggressive legal system. Most of these are very poor people that had to rely on the "Public Defender" because they nor their family had money for representation.

If your goal is to write someone and give them some peace in a system that exploits them, then understand this. Some will ask you for money or for "stamps" to write back and you should be prepared for this. A very few have been able to make enough money from their labors over the course of time to buy an allowed tablet for writing and music. But it takes a lot of time as their pay is less than minimum wage of the 1960s.

If you are writing to find a love of your life, or wanting naughty photos or naughty talk, you are here for the wrong reason.

You should be writing to them so that they can have some normalcy in their lives and you can help another person. Think of these people as soldiers of past wars that anxiously waited for an email from family and friends

Don't forget that no matter how bad your day was, theirs was lots worse.

I wrote several women strictly as penpals, and yes I bought stamps and telephone time for some. It was not expensive and the telephone time allowed the women to talk to their children and family. One was able to rejoin her children, another found herself a boyfriend and got married while she was inside. A third will never get out, but was a nice person to talk to.

So please write one and say hello, but remember that sooner or later you will need to help financially with stamps or with phone money.

It's really great to have an app like this. They may be convicted. They can be good or bad people. But they deserve to laugh as much as we do

My stepson is in a California prison and asked me to look into this site. Even though it had a search feature by sex, race, and location that listed prisoners by their last name, after 15 clicks it sent me to the Cs and back to the Bs, kept reverting to Hispanic instead of African American, and sent me to the state website to actually locate him. It's worthless.

I like there website very easy to use and well put together. Thank you write a prisoner for connecting people with each other.

I contacted an 'inmate' just over 2.5 years ago. We've shared so much since. In September I'm flying to visit him for the first time. We don't talk about what landed him in prison we talk about everything else possibly imaginable. He's opened up my mind to how other people live, not only in prison but on the other side of the world. I'd be lost without him now. I thoroughly recommend 'Write A Prisoner'.

I sent a month ago and did not receive any response. How do I know that the message has been received. Today I sent a message to another person and I hope next month I will find a reply. I wish I could write even once a week

Knowingly letting inmates place ads with old pictures, and knowingly advertising inmates that they know are scamming. Most of the inmates on here this it their platform to get you! Its a shame because their getting away with it, like its just such a nice thing to write someone locked up thats how u feel, but they are on here for a reason. About 80-90% of these inmates are on here to get money from women, and this company knows it, they charge them, make money off of scamming, they should be closed down! If you notice its the same inmates over and over no celebs inmates no inmates that have money or a family, just inmates that need money and dont't have families, the penpals will get left by women or men that leave them, then they have to place ads over and over!
They do it because they need money! Their are no inmates that have power just inmates with none its a scam i know first hand don't fall for the " i love you " after two weeks its impossible to love someone that quick!
They are trained at this and train young people to do what they do! See the same inmate over and over he's a con man point blank and bet your $#*! he does not look like the pic as advertised! You've been warned!

A site where people are taken advantage of, a site where your PP can have multiple pen pals while the felon can promise each the sun, the moon and the stars and when you are not at their beck and call they have a back up person to fill the void.
