“Love this game”

Emily R.

I only recently started playing Webkinz as an adult, and I love it: there is tons to do and I love creating my own rooms that the pets can walk through and interact with. I know people are complaining about the deluxe feature, but it's really not bad; I had to buy an Xbox live membership to play some video games, and that costs more than three times what the Webkinz deluxe membership is per month. I know it's supposed to be for kids, but I still find a lot of enjoyment in it, I would definitely recommend men's this game to kids and adults alike.

I was gifted a Webkinz pet for Christmas that came with a full year of Deluxe Membership. Unfortunately when I added my new pet- I was not given my membership. I tried everything and nothing worked, so I eventually contacted Ganz Support. After being ignored for weeks- I was finally responded to letting me know that they're not going to help me but that they're going to keep the money paid for the membership. Disgusting customer service. Horrible people who clearly don't want to help anyone.

Webkinz is one of my child's favorite games, she is on it all the time and loves playing. The problem is, she seems to have a bit of a fit when an ad pops up when shes trying to "get stuff done" she says. She takes on an angry persona and gets very frustrated with the game. I hope the ads are eventually removed.

It is a great game for children that is very appropriate and safe. Many hours of my life have been spent on this website, playing arcade games, buying items for by pets, and taking care of my pets. However, it is upsetting to me that the game has become more and more focused around money. Half the things on the game you can't even play unless you have a Deluxe Membership. Also, they try to get kids to buy more Webkinz because if you haven't bought a new pet in 1 year, you pretty much can't do anything on the game. Also, it is SO SLOW! It slows down the whole computer and is incredibly frustrating for kids when something just won't load. Also, sometimes I will break my high score on a game and the site will stop working before I can claim my money. I joined in 2009 and it has always been a special part of my childhood, however, over the years Webkinz has gotten worse.

IF YOU LIVE IN CANADA DO NOT MAKE PURCHASES FROM WEBKINZ/EGANZ. I tried to buy a membership. To which it failed so they ended up charging my credit card 7x over and my debit 3x. When I emailed eganz the customer service I received was disgusting. They blamed the issue on me for using my debit! Even tho I used credit as well and told me to just wait and the money will eventually be returned. On top of this they did not apologize or help me get a membership. Now I have to wait to be refunded 660$

Been a long-time member since 2008 and was happy to come back after the flash discontinued its services after i lost everything on my old account and had to make a new one after i downloaded the game back to my desktop, so i could return and enjoy webkinz, only to find its been turned into a deluxe membership only fun experience pay wall cash grab game, I remember when you can buy any items you wanted, do anything you wanted to do with your hearts content in this game, now a days it's a let down and tbh its going To be Ganz's downfall for ruining such a great game that was built on good times good memories and dedicated real workers of making this game, and not all about deluxe! This game made everyone special without deluxe don't understand why they would have changed it things were fine the way they were :/

I was a huge Webkinz fan from the very beginning of the craze, starting an account in the fall of 2005 when I was 7 years old. I was there back when the plush had that distinct design where it looked like threads were hanging off of them to simulate fur. I remember when lil'kinz were introduced, when most of the games were introduced, when they opened the Curio Shop and KinzChat and the Kinzville Academy. Even when I eventually stopped logging on by 2008-2009, I had an immense amount of nostalgia that I carried with me through the years. When I started college a few years ago, my roommate and I wound up logging back into our old accounts while we were avoiding studying for a midterm. Over the next three years, we continued to occasionally log on to play the games together and avoid our school work. Over that time I've come to the very sad realization that it seems the website has turned into a microtransaction and cash-grab machine rather than a virtual world for kids to enjoy. Nearly everything seems to be locked behind a paywall now, with most games, clothes, locations, adventures, etc set up to remind you of what you are missing out on. There is not one but TWO levels of paid membership, being a 'full membership' and a 'deluxe membership' as well as an additional separate currency that is purchased with real-life money. Accounts are given access to the 'worst' versions of everything, giving kids just enough of a taste to make them want for what they don't have. Cruelly, almost, it seems that everything positive that is given to a player is just another manipulative ploy to sell them a membership. For example, there are two clothing shops within the site, one being a labelled as a 'shop' and the other an 'outlet'. The shop has a shopkeeper who is made to seem fashionable and sophisticated, and the clothes are all very stylish and trendy. This shop is only for deluxe members. The outlet, by contrast, has a less fashionable and more generic-looking shopkeeper, and clothes that are objectively much uglier. Even within the outlet, the nicer clothes are locked behind the deluxe and full memberships, and only the least desirable looking items are available for non-members to purchase. And these are clothing items that used to be open to everyone! Items that I still own from my childhood that I am no longer able to purchase! Additionally, the game seems particularly stingy with the kinzcash earned from games. I had earned over ******* in kinzcash during my time on webkinz as a kid, and I had a large house full of furniture and a closet full of clothes (I was not the saving type, is what I mean). I didn't have the patience to grind the arcade games, I only played them for fun when I wanted to, and yet I was still able to earn kinzcash in excess of what I was able to spend. Now when I play a game when I log on with my college roommate, I am lucky to make 10 kinzcash from a single game, making it nearly impossible to earn enough to afford buying anything at all in the game. The last thing that really bothers me is how much the game goes out of its way to make users know that deluxe and full members are more valued users than users without a paid membership. They have special highlighted events on the activity page, their own rewards and prize systems on the main page of the arcade and directory, and the game is constantly pestering you to 'Go Deluxe'. This past week, they offered a seven day free trial of the deluxe membership, and what I found made me genuinely sick to my stomach. All of the non-playable characters have specific dialogue for deluxe members that go out of their way to highlight how special you are when you have a deluxe membership. If you enter the Curio Shop, Arty remarks how happy he is that one of his most special customers returned. If you go to the deluxe items for sale, he tells you how he offers those items only to his most special and valued customers. As an adult experiencing all of this, I can see this for what it is: a ploy to earn a quick buck off of the guise of exclusivity and social clout. But for a child playing this game? I can't imagine how this manipulation would make them feel. To be constantly shown fun and exciting things that they are not special enough to partake in. To be made to feel inferior for not being able to convince their parents to shell out money for a membership. It is clear to me that the intent on this website has changed and it is no longer designed to be a fun and interactive world for kids to explore. It is a thinly veiled cash-grab relentlessly targeting children. I was on this site as a child, and I can confidently say that is not the way the site made me feel as a child. I'm disappointed to see that this is what it has become.

Webkinz is a great online game for kids. In addition to being a website, there is also a line of plush animals with codes so you can play with them on the site. Unfortunately, more and more features are becoming only for Deluxe Members. In order to be a Deluxe Member, you must pay a recurring monthly fee. But, now, if you sign up for Webkinz, you are allowed one free pet, either a cat or a puppy. All in all, Webkinz is a great website for children to have fun.

So i dont know if someone bought out webkinz or something i just know that use to play webkinz for hours and hours just a few years ago but now there is a bunch of ads and Deluxe stuff which is dumb because you should not have to pay real money to have fun on a game im giving it 5 stars because it use to be the best best best best game ever but now i wouldnt recommend that anyone plays it also i have question because i told me that I was mayor and gave me the belt and everything so i was wondering if it did that to everyone or just people who have a very old account or i dont know

I remember playing this game when I was a little kid, and I could spend hours on it! My mother would have to yell at me to get off the computer because I had too much screen time. Now, when I visit the site for nostalgia's sake, I'm finding that there is really not much to do. This isn't simply because I'm older now, but because you have to pay for most things on the site. I remember when I played as a little kid, you bought the stuffed animal and had access to pretty much everything on the site. Now Ganz wants you to pay for a membership to do things you used to be able to do for a one-time fee or even for free! Arcade games I used to love are now only for members (looking at you, Quizzie's!). Want cool clothing items to dress up your pet? Become a Deluxe Member! Don't want to become a Deluxe member? That's alright. You can always buy cool things with coins... which you have to pay for. *sigh* Ganz has taken what was once both a fun game and smart business strategy to just an obvious grab for money. Way to go. You've successfully ruined one of the simplicities of my childhood.

Fun games to play for adults and children. They have learning opportunities and the games are changing. Very safe for children.
The downside is that you must either purchase a stuffed animal or code or become a member to access all of the features.
This site is consistently of good quality and keeps the play interesting.

As of October 2019, the user agreement changed (for the millionth time?!) and my account with well over $300 worth of webkinz products and 15 years in tbe making was deleted because I had not bought a new webkinz plush in 6 months.

My account was well over 15 years old and had countless memories from my childhood and teens. I come from a very low income family, it was a miracle we got a pet at all, let alone one every two years. I have kept up this tradition and would play webkinz when I needed something simpler and innoccent in my life. Putting a new pet in every two years. I had been a loyal costumer since my childhood and without warning or compassion they deleted my account. I have been playing on webkinz for 15 years and I will not be starting over with nothing. Goodbye webkinz.

It is sad that now the site barely even functions. It constantly tries to load ads, and even limits you for not even having a DELUXE account. Before, a deluxe account was supposed to add more things, not limit the things you could do in the game already. Even at that, before it wasnt required to have a membership. Regardless its largely unplayable atm because of the immense lag. From looking at task manager it seems to be a memory leak - Memory usage constantly increases as its open. From 1,000,000 KB - to 2,000,000 KB it just keeps going, meanwhile trying to load ads constantly bringing the game to a freeze. It's kinda sad, back in 2006 the game wasn't like this.

EDIT: I fixed the problem, but it involved a use of an adblocker. Without adblocker the game is unplayable and does precisely what I said. That aside, the game is nice, and I believe I was harsh on the rating. The times this game gave me as a child were priceless. Though still ridiculous why videos must load in and cause the game to freeze without adblocker on.

Still, yes. Deluxe is supposed to add more. But luckily all you need is a membership and you have access to most things. However sad to see games we could play before cannot be played without deluxe membership, and for some reason you can't buy certain items in the curio or Wshop without it.

Without these complaints, the game has to be one of the best casual games out there, especially for kids. Good, addicting fun, with events and things to do.

Lots of glitches and annoying things on webkinz. If you have a problem you can not get help, not by phone, thru e-mail, or there so called help site. If you have OCD do not even try it. They say it is for Kids. My 45 year old collage graduate can't help me with some of the things webkinz requires to get to the next level.

I am saddened at what has happened to Webkinz. It used to be a fun, sweet, and unique game and I LOVED it! But now, the deluxe stuff has taken over, leaving me with limited access to things I used to do daily. At least I still have the stuffed animals...

I've got a question: Why are you changing Webkinz so much?

Webkinz used to be so much fun but now it's like you can't do anything if your not a deluxe member. It's so annoying! Almost all the games you can't even play not if your not a deluxe member. The site constantly freezes and ads pop up like every minute. Also I find it weird that after awhile they won't let you log into Webkinz until you adopt another Webkinz Pet or become a Deluxe Member. All they want is your money. Webkinz had really changed over the years, and not in a good way.

My son Andrew found this game after an excitement of Animal Jam. Unlike Animal Jam, I heard this game is beyond educational and is target at a young age. When we register our account, he decided to adopt a wolf with a very cool house! In Webkinz, you have to feed your pet. I am betting this is a live version of Andrew reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid as Greg adopting a chihuahua in a online game. My son experiences most of the game and this game makes him pretty much smarter than any of it. It even has a school, but on the burger part, he got a little trouble in it. After a week, he decided to not play it anymore completely, probably due to a lack of playing, i guess? But, I recommend you people not to play this if you are a hands-on reviewer.

Stay safe,
John Nymous

I am a mother to a 7 year old child. When I purchased a 2 webkinz for my daughter, I was expecting that those webkinz would be the last payments towards this company. However, I find I'm have to pay to be a "deluxe" member in Oder to play most games. I am not paying a monthly fee so my daughter can be on a totally glitchy website that barely ever works just so she can play a couple of extra games. The website is always running slow, or skipping, and is not worth a penny! Webkinz company should seriously consider a redo of everything and get back to the original 2000's decade webkinz.

I will explain the whole "paying" thing to anybody who doesn't understand it

They changed the rules so Webkinz accounts never expire. And they also changed it so if you didn't buy a Webkinz within a year, instead of your account closing, you just don't have a full membership.

Love the idea of challenges for Webkinz, great idea. Not really original, but a great, used idea(:

Some of the games are the opposite of educational, like Hungry Hog where you eat junk food and get fat, but when you eat the vegetables, you loose 50 points. But quizzy's corner is a great way to learn interesting facts, and brush up on skills expecially over the summer!
