I had a phone issue and it took a while but it was not their issue, the number they gave me was blocked by an end user. The end user did not fix the issue, so Vonage issued and test a new number. Now the problem is Centurylink on the oregon coast with virtually no speeds and causes issues using their internet/modem for Vonage. Thank you Vonage, shame on you end line user, and Let the real phone companies run business on the NW coast CenturyLink.

Calls drop, poor quality when calling 11 miles away, expensive, pushy customer service. I had their service for my parents who are older and can't hear us on our cell phones for some reason. I had Vonage for several years because I didn't honestly know of anyone else. I was paying something stupid like $45/month and I called to cancel and they said they could give me the same service for $9.95 (which was the original price but apparently was a 1 year special). I told them the problem was with all the taxes, etc. Oh with the $9.95 plan with taxes it will be no more than $17/month I promise. Well, yeah I got the $9.95 rate but with taxes it ran more like $22. That makes no sense to me as they are an internet phone company not a landline. So I was paying more than 100% of the base price in taxes alone. Isn't that great. Phone quality was not good at all my parents constantly complained so I finally went on line and found another company that actually had great reviews. I paid a year in full for $10.50/month. That included taxes! So what is Vonage charging for? Makes no sense. As soon as I got it installed, I called my parents who noticed a difference immediately. We have all been happier and much less frustrated. Look around, do your research and find anyone else. A tin can and some string would be better...

I signed up for Vonage and made it clear that I required integration with my crm, from the beginning or I could not use the services. Signed up- resulted in them not being able to integrate with my crm, after 2 days of trying with tech support, I cancelled (had to speak with 5 people to get this done and confirmations of $0 fee.) - Now, 1 month later, after never using the services they sent me to collections. Called Vonage and was told by a supervisor- "nothing we can do", even after verifying all of my conversations and records with their company. Worst decision I made, after having them for 2 days and never being able to use their services now I am dealing with collections to prove the charge is invalid and they are NO HELP.

Products used:
None, they were unable to connect to hubspot crm like they stated they could when selling their services!

I have had vonage since 2012. It was okay at the time, but over time I have had more and more problems with it that have never been resolved. I just lived with them because reporting the problems has only been a waste of time with nothing ever being fixed, and I've been wanting to move and also because until recently I thought they were the only internet phone company. I'd seen a man promoting them in a shop and had never heard of any such thing.

I've had problems with vonage for years, and they have finally got so bad that I am getting rid of them. I'm having my number transferred. The line has been awful, with a lot of noise/interference, my voice echoes back on me more often than not, which it has done off and on for years, people tell me they can't hear me or that I'm cutting out, it is not always blocking my caller ID when I want it to, other issues I can't think of right now, and what has finally pushed me over the edge that has been going on for at least months is that when I dial a UK number that rang just fine on its own for years in the past, I now almost always get an american ringing tone with an american recorded voice repeatedly telling me it's trying to connect my call. It frequently says that it can't connect me or just cuts me off, yet there is nothing wrong with the number, it is vonage. When I do get through one way or another, it usually disconnects suddenly during the call, and if I try to ring back, I have to go through that annoying, obstructive recording again that is effectively blocking me from using the phone 'service' I'm paying for.

To add to the list of problems I've had with vonage, I found out tonight that I can't receive calls now. It's got nothing to do with the new company because they haven't started porting my number, and I've realised that this started happening before that, within the last few days for certain. I think they've changed my number to something completely unlike the real number. When I've had to phone those companies whose recording asks if your number is whatever, they've asked if it was something starting with 666, which is nothing like mine. I didn't really think anything about it at the time, but when I had to get amazon to ring me about an order I didn't receive I could see on my tablet screen that it was ringing some number but my phone didn't ring, and that happened on every attempt.

I decided to get the vonage app for my new company because I thought it would be more convenient than carrying two phones around. The concept is great but the app was terrible. Half the time when I would get calls they wouldn't come through if the app wasn't opened. I would be at my desk and get an email notification that I had a voicemail but my phone hadn't rang. I would open the app and then it would show the missed call. I started to keep the app open in the background but if I was using a different app when someone called, it would ring but wouldn't let me answer the call. I would then access the call log to try to call them back but the missed call history would take almost 30 minutes to update so I could see who called. I finally had enough and decided to get a second cell phone. Before activating my account with vonage I asked the sales person if I could port my number if it didn't work out. This was important because I would have thousands of dollars spent on marketing that would have this number on it. They assured me I could. What they failed to inform me about was that the number they were giving me was a landline and only a few cell providers can port landlines. After spending hours to find a provider that could port the number for me I found out that land lines typically take 7 to 10 days to port so now I won't be able to recieve any calls for up to 10days for my business. Although this may end up costing us thousands, it is money well spent to not have to deal with them again

The company I work for use them and honestly we have just had so many problems over the last few months. All our calls keep dropping half way through Which makes us look very unprofessional and having to call clients back all the time to apologise. Also tying to fix the problem is just a nightmare and such a painful process. Always waiting for a call back for weeks sometimes.

Possibly the sleaziest, greediest, and most unethical company in the U.S. They cheated me out of $175 on rates much higher than the ones we'd agreed on. I can document this. They told me by phone there was nothing I could do about it. They don't even have an email address, they don't want to be contacted, with good reason. Anyone having a significant problem with Vonage's dishonest pricing (or other ethical violations), contact the U.S. Attorney General. Something is being done.

Their phones simply don't work. They ha e been upgrading their systems forever while the phones are constantly broken and you can't receive any calls. Their technical teams are so overloaded that you ca t get through to them and they don't call back. Awful

Some customers would come into our business and tell us they could not reach us. That our number was no longer in service and they thought we were out of business. We would call our number using our Verizon cell phone and the called worked fine.

As it turned out, it was only AT&T cell phones that where told our number was out of service when they called us.

Vonage service said it was AT&T's fault for not routing the calls, and there was nothing they could do until AT&T resolved the problem. The problem when on unresolved for about a week before Vonage "released" our phone number and we could switch off of Vonage. We believe it has occurred intermittently for over a year as customers had complained before.

We were unaware at how vulnerable we were to Vonage service. What a "flakey" service Vonage is getting away with. If you sign up with Vonage a Monster lurks in the background and damages your business

I write this as a warning to consumers. The concept of having one's phone service cloud based is not only brilliant, it is very cost effective, unless you choose Vonage. It is no different working with them than any other major phone provider when it comes to incompetency, service issues and over-charging. Dare I say, maybe even worse!

Vonage has serious communication problems within their own organization. No one knows what someone else has done, how to speak with another department in their own company and therefore is 100% ineffective in getting anything accomplished.

I tried setting up multiple lines for business service. Started off with 2 of our numbers, which actually went fairly well but was then "quadruple" charged by Vonage. That was 2 month ago, and with the writing of this review, still have not received reimbursement despite speaking with their accounting department 3 times, customer service twice and 2 supervisors. And that's not even the worst part.

Vonage never took the right steps to transfer our other numbers. The details of all this would take too long to go into but suffice to say, I made 62 phones calls (yes, really, 62) in a period of 3.5 weeks to try to get to the bottom of the nightmare and ultimately cancelled the service altogether.

A great barometer when choosing any conglomerate to work with is that if they don't have telephone numbers to reach a headquarters or executive offices, then you know there are going to be problems. Vonage posts a number for executive offices but its not an executive office, its simply customer service.

They also give customers the ability to write a complaint on their site, which creates a case number to be responded to within 48 hours. Tried this and no one responded. False statements and misleading customers regarding pricing, service and complaints, on a company's website is illegal but they do not seem to mind!

I'll say it again, NOT WORTH IT. Choose another provider.

I was a Vonage customer for some time. I signed up and agreed to pay $14.99 per month for unlimited calling for VOIP phone service because it seemed like a fair deal. From time to time when I checked my bank balance I started noticing that I was being charged $40+ and called Vonage to find out why my price had changed. To my surprise I was told that I had been on an introductory rate, yada yada yada. Anyway, they switched me back to the original rate, then months later I was back to the $40+ price. This time I contacted someone in customer service at the corporate level to let them know that I was dissatisfied with the customer service and changes in prices I was being charged. The man I spoke with was very rude, and I could see that I wasn't going to get anywhere with him. At that moment I decided to look for other phone service providers. Luckily, I found a company called OOMA that is way more cost effective. I immediately switched my service and paid roughly $100 for a service that would enable me to only have to pay monthly taxes of $6, then I had an option to pay about $70 or so and my service for the year is taken care of. It's refreshing not to have to monitor my bank account to make sure that I'm not being overcharged. I highly recommend OOMA if you've experienced the same sub-par customer service, and overcharges made by your current phone service provider.

I signed up for Vonage based on a friend's recommendation. The price seems very reasonable but I was never happy with Vonage's call quality. I decided to just use Skype. Also they have a strange system used to make emergency calls.
