I'm fun of retro gaming so I use to sell and buy Gameboy games from Cex shop and I'm very satisfied with their professional service. Whatever I order is usually dispatched within one day and if some problem comes up I just pop up in shop and they resolve it. I recommend.
I ordered an item on 19th October 2023. The item never arrived. I was told that they needed to investigate with Royal mail. I have had no response and they still have my money. Its an absolute disgrace. Avoid this company at all costs because if something goes wrong there is no accountability on their part. This is their issue to sort not mine, yet I am here £180 down and still no refund sight.
Never again first purchase dirty scammers cancelled no explanations,
Say there products don't come with chargers hoe the hell can you use the appliance!
Avoid at all costs

Appallingly bad company, inept staff and downright dishonest. The item I bought was supplied in the wrong colour, had to take to a store for a replacement. Then 8 months later it's faulty and doesn't work. I took it back to the store but they refused to repair, replace it or refund it.
Sadly sent the 1.0 disc instead of the 3.0 disc in a starter pack bundle with figures, playbase etc. and wont send the correct one (worth about £2) even though selling it online still. Hoping the customer service will do better than just 'follow this link' to send it back... I wouldn't mind if getting to the nearest shop didn't involve driving and parking fees, and returning it online didn't involve me needing to source new packaging and faff around with returns (original packaging sustained damage being sent to me) Such a shame as I'd placed 3 separate orders in a short space of time, and when asking for a simple fix to a problem, I'm greeted with a lazy solution on their part.
Their support is non-existent! Ordered online, shows as delivered but it has not been. There is no where to contact CEX for help, their support page states they'll reply within 24 hours but they don't. I'm £150 out of pocket and there is no way to get support from CEX.
I brought in a brand new pair of Samsung Buds2 Pro, sealed and the guy at the counter asked me to open them. I said if he opens them he'll have to buy them. He told me the price he can offer for them and I said yes, it's fine. He opened them, had a look at them and then he said he'll have to keep them to run some tests. That's when I asked him why he didn't tell me that at the beginning as I do not leave nearby and I am looking to sell them on the spot. He said he's sorry and that's the procedure. Now I took them to another shop and they gave me less because the seal was ripped off. I'm never going back to CEX ever again although my friends warned me ahead and I still went.
I spent £68 on 2 games and 2 controllers and none of them work!
Don't you check the products before you sell them on for profit?!?
Bought my granddaughter a phone £285, iPhone 11. The guy serving kept holding the phone wouldn't let us take it and look at it. Kept holding the top and pointing to a little crack at the bottom.
When we got home my granddaughter was so busy getting apps downloaded etc, she never noticed a chip out of the top corner very small. The phone worked perfectly so we just left it till 1 month later it started to get really really hot and just kept shutting down. On inspection by my daughter we know that the battery is only 75%. It just feels like a total con paying that kind of money for a useless phone. I would bet money on the sales guy knowing it was a crap phone along with the chip at the top where he kept his thumb.
Its good for buying stuff but selling stuff is a scam because they sell fifa 14 for 4 pounds and then you get 1 pound of it this is for the ps vita but a then they sell fifa 14 on xbox one for £6 then THEY SELL FIFA 15 FOR £3.50 ITS A SCAM AND NOT A SCAM BUT I GOTTA SAY IF YOUR LOOKING FOR MONEY FROM SAY A STARFOX FOR THE N64 SELL IT ON EBAY TO GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH

I was sold a Spider Man: Miles Morales PS5 copy which didn't work at all because of multiple scratches on the back of the disc. I went back in to return it, and the guy told me that, because I don't have a receipt or any proof I bought it from them, they can't return it. But the best part? The guy who SOLD it to me was standing right next to him and didn't say a word.
Another time, I bought a Switch Lite and the left analog was extremely faulty, so I wanted to trade it in for a voucher or just return it. But then another worker butted in and told me I have to wait for 2-3 weeks for them to test it, and then I need to give them a chance to fix it, and only then would they "buy" the console off me; not refund me; buy it off me for a much smaller price.
Overall, product quality is extremely inconsistent and poor, staff only get involved when it benefits them and not the customer, and it's just a waste of time shopping here.
You want a console or a new game? Just buy it off eBay or Amazon. Yeah, it'll be a bit more expensive, but at least you're guaranteed a good-quality product.

After few good years of me as one of their loyal customers, i've decided that enough is enough, so i quit their services... Wrong items sent to me multiple times and problems with delivery. If this is how they send parcels, i don't want anything to do with this company!

We bought a monitor and it developed a fault with the screen while under warranty and cex refused to fix it claiming it must of been damaged in store they claimed it must of been dropped yet now say it could be a number of things funny thing is they claimed they had checked it yet can not tell us exactly what is wrong with it so clearly hasn't been checked there just using the excuse its been damaged to avoid having to honor the warranty total rip off merchants
Bought a iPhone 14 pro from Wrexham store got it home and there is android software on it. Took it back won't give refund so now in hands of trading standards. Won't use this company again disgraceful
When to the store to sell my PS4 after waiting ages for them to test it they came back saying the seal was broken and would not buy.after getting home we found that the outer box was missing the power lead. The controller lead missing.they give you nothing for your items £59 for a playstation 4 and the second hand games are more expensive then Amazon brand new.insulting people go somewhere else most of there stuff have faults
I wanted to sell my Xbox Series X console and they rejected it, because of a faulty HDMI port. They sent it back to me and I plugged the console in to see if that was true. Well it ain't true, the Xbox displayed perfectly on my TV. Nothing is faulty with the HDMI port and I payed special delivery to get it to them. This is really annoying and I just wanted to warn people about wasting your time and money.
The worst company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with.
Miss selling at its very best, People, be warned, if you want to be screwed conned and made to look completely foolish, then go ahead and deal with these guys.
Shocking attitude,
Absolutely terrible experience,
BE WARNED
Bought a samsung galaxy 4watch £150 has a high battery drain 6/7 hours normal use, thought it was faulty, took back to wythenshawe cex who exhaustively tested it by leaving on a desk and pronouncing no fault found how unsurprising.
Normal stores give more than a 2 day return slot for possible faulty goods so I am presuming the 2day policy is supposed to be a get out of jail card for cex? Doesn't matter I'm not going back in cex again.

Don't go off the cex 5star reviews as I think some might be fakes

Now tried contacting CEX on numerous occasions and it seems not an ounce of give a £#!@ was given. Parcel not turned up after 2 weeks and after sending emails and filling out online forms still no joy, I think I'm dealing with bots rather than real people. All I want is my money back for an item I haven't received, not much to ask.
Date of experience: 29 January 2023

I purchased a Garmmin watch. Unfortunately the watch sent was faulty and i asked for a replacement. They weren't able to supply one, so i asked for a refund. They insist that they have to carry out checks first, which is understandable. 10 days after receiving it they have still not reimbursed me. Just 2 minutes will tell anyone it's faulty. I'm left £250 out of pocket, this service is shocking and not acceptable. I'm now having to contact trading standards to chase my refund

Iphone 8 plus - mint condition grade A - guy in shop agreed it was perfect BUT
No box so from £156 to £125 they don't tell you that
Had brand new cable but no plug - deduct further £2.30
Took phone, phoned me later to say battery was running low - reduced price £52 - AND ON RECIEPT SAID NON WORKING - NOT TRUE as it was a long drive there and back they have you.
DO NOT SELL GOODS TO THIS BUSINESS IF YOU WANT REASONABLE VALUE
Tip for consumers:
Go elsewhere for reasonable value
Well, we bought a Samsung galaxy fold 3, it came without the protective inside screen cover and had a small damaged area on the fold
They insisted 'we' had removed the cover and refused the return. Pretty disgraceful really and will not use again.
The store we took it to said it should never have been sold in the first place as there was a damaged area near the fold, so it will probably fail at some point
It's more expensive to buy an old game or anything really from here and the steal money from trade ins. One time I took my camera to trade in and they gave me a really low offer, I didn't want to do it, but then I saw that they had broken the memory card slot, useless pricks. It's a terrible shop and should be boycotted to maybe bring a new better honest version of a trade in place. It used to be, but now it's just a way to take people's money and as much as possible
I've used to like Cex, but changed my mind after this experience. I've placed an order for £525 GPU 1 week ago. Received wrong tracking number. When I've contacted support they send me unrelated generic message about large letter items. Until now I don't even have valid tracking number after getting in touch 4 days ago. Pathetic service.
Don't buy from here as I had the item for one day and they don't do refunds on the day I got me item and when I taken it back they had to test it out and that 1st even tho I only had the item for 4 hours and they don't refund the item back on your card even tho I had the item for one day.forcing you to spend the voucher I got from the store. Shame on ya's cex not a happy customer ye going to lose all ya Customers the way ya treat people it's not on!
